He describing Mexican health officials he has spoken to as absolutely panicked and that this recumbent virus is like nothing they have ever seen before.
He also said that WHO and CDC officials new several days ago that this was a new strain and tried to contain it but that they were unsuccessful.
I wish I had a way to record this. It sounds very dire... never heard anything like this before.
I have a bad feeling about all this. |

I saw it too on my satellite feed. I forgot the doctors name but it was VERY alarmist. Surprising actually, usually CNN Intl is a bit of a snooze fest.
I wonder if there is a blackout issued by govt officials on this in the US. |

I know this is being downplayed here.
Having friends at FEMA and CDC, I know how the media downplay thing works. It is always worse than what is reported. (the deaths in Katrina, Ike, etc.) Thousands dead and we hear NOTHING about this.
I KNOW they are lying to us. They don't want people to panic and stay home from work. Then the fragile economy will collapse.
Everybody needs to prepare, get food, water and meds to last 3 mos. |

Nervous nellie...  Not in the least... Fearmongering neither. I sat for many years listening to my grandmother recalling her living through the 1918 pandemic. She never, ever got over it. And, actually I am a nurse, so probably better prepared than most to deal with any pandemics that may or may not arrive... and btw.. it is only a matter of time before another one sweeps the globe. Antibiotics are not so effective these days ;-) |
