Last night, my son who is back to Cuernavaca (he was in Mexico city but his training got canceled) told me that people are demanding to close the highways, becasue this weekend is "labors day" in Mexico and tons of people from Mexico city, spend those days out of the city. So far, there is no official announcement about closing the highway. At least not the one that is Mexico-Acapulco.

Closing all public transportation and the airport is still a possibility. Hopefully you won't find yourself trapped in the city.

LOL...that is true. I have seen many americans taking tequila ritual too lightly (because they forget that altitude will make them have a different reaction than at their home) and wow!!!! a hangover to remember.
