I almost got the chance to go a long time ago.

My old boss inhereted a Mercedes and he wanted me to fly out to the west coast to drive it back east.

Damn, that would have been fun.

<I am glad to hear that some of you felt this event was a wonderful experience. I have traveled through Mexico, Guatemala and Bolivia with the Elder's on other occassions and never in my life have I experienced such a deceptive, misleading and unrelational journey. I have also traveled with Don Alejandro through Guatemala. While things do happen to change the course of an event, which is to be expected when traveling in 'spirit time', this is the first time that any organization has promoted an event and received payment for days that they knew well in advance were NOT going to happen.
For instance, the University of Arizona never approved the event and this was known prior to advertising. (I lost two days of prepaid hotel money due to 'last minute' cancellation of this event.)
No one I spoke to who was related to ICA could tell me where we were going from Grand Canyon. The so-called Harmony Keeper's kept passing me on to someone else. I was not the only one who got left behind there. Many drove to the Land of the Forgotton People and could not find the group.
Not knowing that the Hopi event was "canceled", I drove there through the sand storm to discover others waiting for an event that wasnt going to happen. I was not the only one. A family from Spain had been kicked off a bus at Hopi, without their young daughters medicine. How in the world did that happen? Luckily, there were enough of us there to be able to drive this family back to Cottonwood.
At Hopi, we learned the truth of what had happened and it is not what has been described here. Adam Yellowbird's first contact at Hopi was a woman who runs a gift shop at the Cultural Center!!! He did NOT have personal contacts until he went seeking them...although he advertised all the mumbo jumbo about the Hopi Wisdom Keeper's sharing with the group well in advance to contacting them. Had he gone through the appropriate channels, the Hopi would have participated, but the whole idea of the creation of NEW tablets was pure fabrication from the get-go.

Yellowbird was called on many occassions by the Hopi Elder's, but phone calls to the right people were NOT returned. During the event itself, the Elder's called and asked to speak to Don Alejandro in order to work something out. Apparently the message was never passed on to Tata, as I know he would have spoken to them personally.

And how was everyone supposed to find out about the day that ICA decided to have a "picnic"? A picnic that each of us paid $85 for and we were still asked to bring a dish to pass??? Many did not know where the group was at on that day.

And wouldnt it have been nice if ICA would have informed us that lunch was NOT included in the purchase price of the event. I work with a non-profit here in Michigan and when we say lunch, we mean you get lunch and water and snacks and coffee. If we arent providing that service, we make sure everyone knows in advance. And it would have also been nice if they had mention park entrance fee's.

During all of my other travels with the Elder's, everyone was invited to participate in the council meetings. Nothing was 'hidden'. Do you realize that we were not allowed to be there because ICA was filming these interactions? We were not allowed to take photo's because they wanted exclusive rights to everything so they could create a video to sell. This video should have been given to everyone who paid for the event, not sold for an additional price. "Authorized" people, hmm???
Does anyone wonder why the Kogi Mamos chose to leave the event early because "they disagreed with the organizer's of the event"? The Kogi are highly evolved people and they knew what ICA was doing was unethical and chose not to participate. And they rarely leave their homelands....what a shame.
Yellowbird, a self-proclaimed "visionary" needs to come clean about his intentions or the event needs to be investigated by the authorities so nothing like this will ever happen again.
Yes, there were some magical moments during this event, but it could have been so much more with proper, relational leadership and communication.
The one thing I learned during this journey was that, at this moment in time, even the Elder's that we respect and honor do not know what is to come. They, too, are seeking direction. We are creating the path to the next world in each moment. I, too, am an Elder and do not wish to create deception or separation as I walk this path. And what Yellowbird and ICA created was a "New Age" egoic creation that was deceptive from the beginning. I am not a life-negative person. I only ask that the truth be revealed and that everyone open their eyes to see and feel it. Much more was going on than met the eye and that was very painful to feel as it unfolded.

Let us get something straightened out. I reported what I KNEW, WHAT I FELT PERSONALLY. I don't know anything about the ICA, Yellowbird or his wife Carmen. I have been to AZ 2x's in my life. I have never been lucky or blessed enough to travel with or meet any elders EVER in my life. And although you have been blessed to be able to do that, please do not come here and knock my personal experiences while I was there. As far as deception goes, you seem to have some inside information into this as the rest of us do not. I did not sense deception in the elders themselves whatsoever. As a matter of fact, I had nothing but good feelings from them. I do believe that they wanted to do more with us than they were, and I believe I said that in an above post. There were signs were posted in Tuba City leading directly to the event location there. I know because I was afraid of getting lost as I have never been there before. I too paid up front for hotel rooms in Flagstaff, as well as Winslow. I cancelled my reservations and I was not charged for making them either. And no I do not think that people were well informed, however there was information available about the changes. I know because I had to ask what was going on myself. And no, it was not fair that lunch or drinks were not included. However i paid a volunteer price, although I never really did anything that would be considered 'work" while i was there. I did not like some things I saw, I went there to hear what the elders had to say, and to be with people who actually give a shit about this planet, and all the people including all other life forms that live here. As far as the Kogi Mamas leaving early, we were never told why they left. And as for Hopi, I never went there so I cannot say what happened there. I did say however that we were informed many times that we were not going there and that the change was made to go to Tuba City instead. I do agree with you on the picnic issue. I had to ask where exactly it was we were going. That is the only place that did not have signs directing people to it that I saw during my time there. People had to ask in the gas station for directions, including myself.
What kind of elder are you if you don't mind being asked? This is the first time I have ever had the honor to be present with so many elders, or any elders as a matter of fact. Regardless of deception as you stated, and some screwed up things that happened that I did see, I personally will not forget how I felt during the ceremonies and do wish to keep those feelings in my heart always as I may never have the honor to meet such noble people again in this life.
Maybe some time in the future there will be another event. One more organized and prepared. And as things go, I may not be able to attend another such event, so this is all that I have. I felt blessed to be able to attend at all, and I ask that you respect that. I reported here what I personally saw and heard as I have been coming to this board for nearly 10 years and wished to share my experience with the people here.

Sharalynel- I do not consider myself a "new ager" either. Or any "ager" for that matter. One person spoke of something that i knew about. A man from the people of the sun,lake titicaca. I can't remember exactly where he said he was from, and I wish I could. He said their records go back 30,000 years to the time of the "crystal pyramid". I have waited my whole life to hear someone speak of that particular place. Most people that claim knowledge of atlantis have no idea about that place. It is something that I know well.... I drew him a picture of my own memories and he stated that it wa a sacred symbol! Also i spoke with Uqulla about the grand caynon before it split-broke. There was a civilization that lived there. He knew what I was talking about...
And as far as your statement about new agers goes. I look at it like this. Jesus Christ would have been considered a "new ager" because of His teachings of Oneness and Love. So I am not ashamed if that is what you wish to "label" me as. I am in good company. What i saw was people who cared. Cared about this planet, cared about our Creator, cared whether we live or die in an "armegeddon-type" world ending. And truly wished to change it from their hearts so that no-one would suffer. If that is to be considered "new-age" than so be it.
I hope that you did get to see that beauty while there. I did, and I will never forget it.

But there was an African Queen from Africa there and i did get to sit next to her and chat for a few minutes! She was beautiful! And she sang this sweet little song and had us all sing along with her. Definately cool!

Another thought about "new agers". They are actually truth seekers. They are seeking and reading and studying things that they did not think about before. Something with main stream doesn't quite fit anymore and they are looking for answers. I don't see anything wrong with that. Isn't taht what we we "supposed" to do anyways.

I did not share what I did to put down yours or anyone else's experience of the event. That was not my intention. But having traveled in the wake of a trail of tears by those whom ICA did not communicate clearly with (you were one of the lucky ones), my sharing was to open the eyes of those who have the tendency to not feel or see the bigger picture, even when its unfolding right in front of ones eyes. If one is a Truth-seeker, one needs to be open to hear/see it, even when it might be uncomfortable.

The Kogi said to the people, during the brief time they were allowed by ICA to speak, that they were going home because they were in "disagreement with the intent of the organizers of the event". Imagine having traveled so far to participate and to discover that something was "off".

The Elder's who came did a wonderful job with what they had to work with and I really am happy that your experience was awesome. But the potential for this event to be SO much more was resting in the other dimensions up until the time of the ceremony at Grand Canyon. At that point, those who were holding a sacred space for things to unfold were told by Spirit to let go.

Isn't it strange that the Elder's, themselves, had to stop at a Walmart to purchase more blankets because they were sleeping in the cold. ICA could have/should have taken much better care of everyone who participated in this event. And it should have been revealed that the main reason for no cell phones or camera's was because they wanted total control of all photo's etc. The elder's were being filmed by ICA during the times "they were in council", not because the elder's desired this, but so that ICA could make money off of what we did not get to experience. Under normal conditions, everyone is allowed to participate in council meetings.

I would love to feel/see ICA come clean about this so that in the future, this 'non-profit' organization might learn to be more relationial and honest about any future events. Afterall, we ARE in a time of truth being revealed, not hidden.

As for me, I am an 13th generation elder in the tradition of my ancestors from Siberia. I am also a Mayan Solar Initiate and shamanic catalyst, as well as the Guardian of a sacred crystal skull. We are here to help with the Shift of the Ages and the clarification of the body/mind egoic structures here that cannot be carried into the new world.

I do completely agree with you on this statement. I had many visions about things that were to happen that did not.
One specific vision I had concerend the Star People. The first visiion I had was on the East Coast. The second I had was the first night I arrived on the West Coast. One took place on the Hopi Mesa, the second at Cottonwood. They wished to come and speak to us.

There were other visions as well that I had concerning the event. One was a healing for my son. The vision/dream that i had I FELT. I called my husband and told him repeately that his son was healed and I FELT his emotions through the phone. I had that vision/dream the night before I left to go to Arizona. I could not sleep at all the night before I was to leave, and the few minutes I did sleep, I had this vision/dream.

None of the visions I had came true as if "something" changed or was blocking them from happening.

I did get to speak with Drunvalo for a few minutes while there. I actually had to write him letters and hand deliver them to him at one point because there were so many people that wished to speak to him. When I went to say good-bye when it was time for us to leave, I believe he wanted me to stay. But I had a plane to catch and did not have a choice. My husband would have been furious had I stayed. But had Drunvalo asked me to stay i would have, and I do believe my husband would have understood. I found out that the elders were still there and DOING HEALINGS when I arrived home! Of course i wanted to hop on a plane and go back. The only way that would happen is if Drunvalo called and requested it. Then my husband would let me go back. My husband has immense respect for Druunvalo. I did give Drunvalo my home information and phone number. And I did try to reach him in other ways as well.

I did have another vision the first night i arrived home concerning the elders. Why I am having these dreams and visions I am unsure of.
I also agree with you about the situation with the ica. If they are using spirituality because of greed, we both know how it will come back on them. So that part i choose to let go because I know how karma works. But another way to look at it is this: It is possible to turn a negative in to a positive, and I do believe we did just that. Maybe all you say about the ica is true, but the way the elders handled it, and the high vibrations that were clearly present turned it into a positive thing for the amount of time we were all together.
Also if the Hopi knew this was taking place, then the should have just come and stepped in and turned it around. They should have come and told everyone the truth about what was taking place and turned it around on the ica. That would have been perfectly acceptable. What I have learned in this life is about personal responsibility. And it has been a hard lesson for me. There were many times I turned away from people that I could have easily helped simply becasue i refused to step up to the plate and speak the truth as i knew it to be. Sometimes of out fear of redicule, sometimes out of anger that harsh words had been spoken about me. But it was always my responsibility to speak the truth. I simply let my own ego get in the way.

As far as the event goes,I have never been to any other events like this to compare with. This is the only thing I have ever been able to attend. That is why it is so special to me.

I remember seeing a crystal skull while there. Was it yours? It is cool that you are such a revered elder! As for me I know not who I am. I only know who I am in this life. Drunvalo once told me taht I was very old, and that's why I am here now. Other than that i had a past life report done for my by one of the fantastic people on this web site and it revealed alot of information to me that for the majority of my life I thought I was crazy for the memories I had! There is only one key piece missing for me, an answer to a question that I have that has been nagging at me for a long time now. I know that I can find that answer with Drunvalo, and I long to attend one of his seminars, but financially I cannot afford it AT THIS MOMENT IN TIME. I said that so do I do not condemn myself in the future. He is having a seminar in Sedona this summer that I would LOVE to attend. Lodging and transportation would again be a problem for me as they were this time.

Not at all. I went with an open heart, an open mind, and i expected nothing, but went with hope in my heart for the healing of my child. That's all. I was very in sync with the ceremonies and energies there. Believe me I was and still am in awe of the great and noble elders that were present. I let my son do his "thing". Which was walking around talking to people and talking to himself. There were many people there, on the grass, down by the water, and by the sweat lodges. Not everyone was around the tents. Chris was and still is, as am I very fond of the Lakotah people that were present. They were great with Chris the whole time. The Lakotah elder stated that he "knew" Chris. And that he was meeting himself. That was and is a great comfort to me, even in this world of negativity that I live in. The only time I became distracted at all was in the evening trying to calm him, and I had help with that also. He was after all the one who had the original dream about going, and the sign that i was to go that I had been praying for.

Thank you Jim for sending this to me and for all the beautiful reviews of the gathering. I am sure that there will be many more coming soon. I can feel the hearts being filled with hope and light from my frozen North home.
How wonderful to hear of the gathering I would have loved to be in the group but alas the tides of this economic struggle have kept me here in Maine.
My heart and spirit all that weekend seem to be else where so I know that in some ways you were all with me.
It was so good to hear from all of you about the gathering and to know many of the well deserved elders were there to share the simple truth of life with you.
I embrace the elders and my old and dear friends who attended and spoke. So many of our elders are now are in spirit but I still feel their presence at many gatherings.

Hopi Tribal Council Will Not Authorize Gathering on Hopi Land

On April 9, 2009, the Hopi Tribal Council adopted Council Resolution H- 027 –2009, refusing to authorize the use of Hopi land for an event known as “The Gathering of the Ancestors” sponsored by the Institute for Cultural Awareness of Cornville, Arizona. Sponsors of the event have invited people from around the world to attend this gathering. According to advertising put out by the Institute, the event has been scheduled to take place on the Hopi Reservation on April 25 and 26, 2009. The Council Resolution was sponsored by the villages of Shungopavi, Mishongnovi, and Sipaulovi, through their respective religious leaders, who strongly object to the event being held on Hopi sacred lands because the traditional Hopi leadership believes the event is contrary to, and will violate Hopi teachings and the sanctity of the Hopi way of life. The Religious leaders asked the Hopi Tribal Council to exercise its responsibilities under the Hopi Constitution to protect Hopi religion, tradition, and ceremonies from harm.

In considering whether to grant the Tribe’s consent for holding the event on Hopi lands, the Council found that the event’s sponsors lacked specific plans to address the public safety issues, including crowd control and traffic congestion, health and sanitation that always accompany such large gatherings. In addition, the Council found that the event has not been sanctioned by the Hopi villages or by the Hopi Tribal government and that the Institute had not applied for nor been granted any permits required to hold this event on the Hopi reservation. Based on these finding, the Hopi Tribal Council expressed its opposition to the holding of this non-sanctioned event on Hopi land and stated that the Tribe will not grant its consent to holding the event on Hopi land.

According to the Tribal Council representative Dale Sinquah, “We understand that different groups have different philosophies and right to practice those philosophies. We accept these differences as declared by the ICA. Unfortunately, ICA’s philosophy does not mesh with our traditional ancestral Hopi ways and we do not feel that a gathering of this type would be in the best interest of the Hopi people to be held on Hopi lands. We cannot sanction this event on our sacred ancestral land.”


According to Mary A. Felter, CAO, “We welcome the public to learn more about Hopi culture to allow for better understanding of our ways of life. We wish nothing but peace and goodwill for everyone and everything.”

Day 4: Return of the Ancestors and CALL FOR PRAYERS&#8207;



Hello All!

This morning began with the Mayans speaking about the meaning and
vibration of this day Ajpu according to the Mayan calendar, and that
besides the attributes listed on the daily schedule, it is about the
negativity being cleansed and carried away by the wind.

The Mayans from Guatemala say that Mayan cosmology directs their lives.
The are from 'Guatemala'. The real name was originally 'Watamaya' in
the Quechua language, which means that they invoke their Maya Ancestors.
This is why they do these ceremonies-- to invoke their Ancestors. And
they say that when their grandfather chooses to arrive during this
Gathering, they will be able to conduct a real Mayan fire ceremony at
this which will last 2-3 hours. They say that they are so happy to be
here at this Gathering and to share.

The amazing and resplendent Toltec leader Tlakaele arrived to speak and
reiterate many of the things that others had spoken, including his
message of leaving no one behind and including all colors and nations.
He reminded us that many of us here remember the others from previous
lives. He led a circle dance and four colors ceremony in his tradition,
with others from Mexico drumming or assisting in conducting the ceremony.
I have to say that as good as the intentions were, that for the first
time the energy seemed challenged in this ceremony-- which made more
sense later...

Elders form Queros, near Cuzco, Peru, performed a Inca ceremony invoking
the four directions and giving offerings to Pachamama, played the flute,
and sang a song so that there could be no hate in our hearts.

THEN...

The Hopis-- Ruben Saufkie and his Uncle Alan, translated by Adam Yellow
bird's wife Carmen (through tears), got up and made an unscheduled
announcement to the gathering.

Following is a fairly verbatim account of their announcements:

RUBEN SAUFKIE:

Captain Silas of the First Mesa came to tell us-- Adam, Carmen, ICA,
my Uncle Alan and myself-- that they had just received information from
the Bureau of Indian Affairs that the political leaders of the Second
Mesa (Shungopavi, Sipaulovi and Mishongnovi) went to the Government
puppet Hopi 'Tribal Council' to ask them not to allow the Return of the
Ancestors Gathering on Hopi land. I was not invited to this meeting, but
I just happened to be in the area and attended. I spoke to them about
what is happening at this Gathering, even though I knew that (because of
the vibration of the day) it would be to no avail. I am 'just a kid',
but I can see what our leaders have become from both the political and
traditional side (not good). The BIA recognizes this Tribal Council even
though there are no true political or traditional Hopi leaders in it. I
spoke from the heart about how this all comes from the spiritual side of
our Bear Clan-- they are small, but they are the ones who are waiting
for those that are at this Gathering. That is the heart of Hopi.
Unfortunately, most are against this Gathering. They feel that it is not
the time for this to come about. They believe that it will bring harm to
our way of life. I feel compassion and sorrow for these leaders, but I
also know that without challenges and this negativity, there is no
healing. It is by no coincidence that they come on the 4th day. 4 is
sacred. I understand where they stand. SO, we need your prayers of
compassion for these leaders to have a change of heart. Even if it is
just one, it will open the door. It is great what the brothers from the
South have just done for us (the Inca ceremony)-- to bring the
compassion and understanding for these leaders. THIS IS THE TIME. I will
now go back to the Bear Clan and also to the ones who misunderstand.
Hopefully we can come together, because we are the ones that need to fix
this. I know that Don Alejandro is on the way, so I will leave my Uncle
Alan with you at this Gathering to protect and to help you. That is his
role coming from the two horn tradition. Pray to the Ancestors. That is
why we are here. This is so much bigger than all of us.

When I began my spiritual path when I was young and everything was good,
I thought it would be easy. I never thought that our chiefs would turn
against us. My nephew and I and the elders who are waiting have good
hearts. The Cloud People from Peru, and that is who you are-- from the
Cloud Forest, are doing something about this. I know that all of you
Chiefs of the world who have come here have come with good hearts and
good prayers. I know that something good is going to happen from this
Gathering.

UQUALLA (the Havasupai):

I am the keeper of ceremonial memories and can only share what is
appropriate to the people, to the land, and to the time that I am
present in at any particular time. The Hopi are our brother tribe to the
North. In our history, there was an epidemic among the Hopi children
that threatened to infect every one of them. We, the Havasupai, took a
handful of these children into the bottom of the Grand Canyon and raised
them ourselves. When the epidemic had passed, we returned their children
to them and this has enabled one of the most purest traditional cultures
on this Earth to survive. Just because we have good energy at this
Gathering does not justify us stepping into the ceremonies of other
people. The Hopi do not have the eloquence of speech as do I, so when I
go out into the world, I bring their message as well as my own. I say
let us go to the places on Mother Earth where we are welcome and ask
these leaders to join us. Let you hearts be happy and let your beauty
shine. All of the tears that have been shed here just now are simply to
connect us with Spirit, and Spirit understands. DO NOT BE ANGRY AT ANY
ORGANIZATION. DO NOT BE ANGRY AT ANY TRIBE. DO NOT BE ANGRY AT ANY ONE.
If we are here to promote peace and oneness, it must come from within. I
honor each and every one of you ceremonial walkers. DO NOT TAKE A STEP
WITH DARK HEART REARING. So these Hopi leaders do not see the vision
that we see. The time will come, but we do not have much time. Enjoy
each day. Live your live one day at a time from sunrise to sunset.
Traditional democratically elected leaders must respond when any one of
their people make a request or have a question. These Hopi leaders have
answered in a way that they think is best for their people. WE CANNOT
ARGUE THIS POINT. Let us play the drums and the gourds to awaken the
Ancestors alive in Mother Earth. This is the TRUE reason that we walk in
this time. We here will continue to walk in the secret lands of the
Southwest. Today I speak from a heavy heart. Decisions must be made. We
must live now all that we have been talking about here. I say again:

SO you see, Please pray and drum or whatever you can do to promote
compassion and understanding. It was absolutely impossible not to cry
when the sounds of many of the elders everywhere, sobbing from hurt in
their hearts, was heard among us. What will be will be, and nothing
here is going to be accomplished by power-over, disrespect or war.
This Gathering will continue regardless, I believe, with the help of
our gracious Havasupai host. You know that these challenges would come,
these bumps in the road during this Gathering... we ended early of
course, and the elders were whisked away to work together. After
recovering and grounding from this emotional blow, many are praying,
are in the sweats, playing music and dancing, or simply enjoying this
day. I personally believe that we will overcome this. In the meantime,
we need every single one of your prayers. This IS bigger than all of us.

Return of the Ancestors

Hello All!

Sorry for the typos yesterday-- I do the best I can while delirious! I
tell you that there is some kind of superhuman force that is driving me
to stay standing and awake. If anyone knows Jason Agundez or Jason
Zverlein, please tell them that their emails are coming back to me.
I've tried to catch up with other glitches that may have caused some of
you to miss the emails.

I slept in a bit today and showed up late to the Gathering. I guess I
felt a little wiped out after yesterday, plus I had to pack up what has
turned out to be a tornado in my little motel room and get ready to
travel on the road again.

Apparently I didn't miss much. Everybody was late today with no
apologies, and people were just hanging out and being mellow. A reggae
band show showed up and played to raise the vibrations before I got
there, and I arrived just in time to see Don Alejandro begin to speak
after the Mayans and other various elders, including Mariano Pachaguaya,
who called in the four directions (each naming them in their own
language and interpreting the meaning for us) and started the sacred
fire. Yes, DON ALEJANDRO has arrived! He apologized for not getting
here earlier, but he could not due to work obligations. He had
instructed the elders to began making their own decisions in circle
until he got there. Yesterday I noticed that some Sikh gurus had joined
us, and today I see that some Africans have arrived too. I have not had
a chance to speak to either yet.

For those of you who have not yet accessed 'The Astrology of the
Ancestors Gathering' that was posted on Drunvalo Melchizedek's
site: www.spiritof maat.com, I am pasting it here for you now because
I feel that it is very pertinent in light of the masculine and feminine
energy coming into balance today, as well the information about the
Hopi-Isis Square. It's also true superficially in regards to the fire,
as I see that one of our young fire tenders Gray Wolf talks too much
and gets easily distracted from his duties! The elders are patient with
him, and we've got to allow these young people their lessons! It's a bit
long, so skip forward if you want to read on and scroll down to END...


ASTROLOGY OF THE ANCESTORS:

"At the time of the 12 Baktun and 13 Ahau is the time of the return of
our ancestors and the return of the men of wisdom." "That time is now."

— Grandfather Alejandro Cirilo Oxlaj, President of the National Mayan
Council of Elders of Guatemala and President of the Continental Council
of Indigenous Elders and Spiritual Guides of the Americas.

Back in the fall of 2008, Adam Yellowbird and Carmen Goudin asked me if
I'd be willing to take a look at the astrology of the Ancestor's
Gathering. Both of them felt that knowing what the stars have to say
about this ten-day ceremonial event would shed some light on what's
going on at the energetic level and perhaps helps us prepare ourselves
inwardly for an experience that is probably the biggest thing that will
ever happen to any of us.

Considering their request, I had no problem doing the work, but I felt a
little intimidated because I am new to Indigenous things and clueless as
to why the Elders consider the dates between April 18th and April 28th
so auspicious. Even so, I am wise enough to know that there are many
ways to looks at things and if the April dates were significant from the
Indigenous perspective, I was sure that they would look just as
auspicious if examined from the perspective of Western Astrology.

When I first began to think about this I opened my ephemeris and did a
scan of where the planets would be and what the Moon would be doing
between the day that they plan to light the first fire and the last day
of the gathering on April 28th. The initial overview revealed a lot — in
fact it revealed so much, I figured that alone would be enough to go on.
As the months passed and the reality of the gathering came closer and
closer I got out my charts and started studying them in more detail —
and they are full of imagery that will shed some light on what the
Return of the Ancestors Gathering is all about.

One of the things an astrologer needs when they do this kind of work are
accurate times and specific locations. This project has been interesting
because the Elders have made it very clear that the locations and the
timing for each ceremony must be kept secret. Without the usual tools
I've had to figure out how to approach it a little differently, using
among other things, planetary midpoints and Sabian Symbols.



The First Fire

On the day that the first ceremonial fire is lit, the chart shows the
North Node at five-degrees Aquarius. The North Node represents the point
of fulfillment in an individual horoscope — in a chart for an event, it
can represent a lot of things but it always has a great deal to say
about where the focus needs to be kept.

The Sabian Symbol for that degree of Aquarius reads like this:

"PHASE 305 (AQUARIUS 5-DEGREES): A COUNCIL OF ANCESTORS IS SEEN
IMPLEMENTING THE EFFORTS OF A YOUNG LEADER

KEYNOTE: The Root foundation of past performances which power and
sustain whatever decision is made in a crisis by an individual.

The whole past of mankind stands behind any individual effort,
especially in times of critical decisions. The endeavor of the priests
who built the California missions had behind it the whole past of
Catholic proselytizing, i.e. the attempt to bring the "Good News" to all
people of the Earth. Every individual is far more dependent upon the
strength of his ancestors' achievements — or oppressed by their failures
and lack of vision — than he usually believes. This can mean a hidden
foundation of individual strength, or the inertia of a tradition unable
to transcend its limited origins.

This is the last symbol in the sixty-first five-fold sequence..
It suggests that in many situations RELIANCE UPON PRECEDENTS will enable
the aspirant to greatness to tap the power of his deepest roots."

Not bad for openers. It tells us exactly what is happening. Taken
literally it tells us that this is a time when we have to turn to our
Ancestors for strength and wisdom. It could also be saying that our
Elders have returned, at a decisive moment to implement the growth of
their Younger Brothers. Long established precedents will secure the
effort and allow us to tap into our deepest roots, provided those
precedents aren't bogged down by traditionalism that no longer serves
any useful purpose.

The North Node will sit on that degree, and that imagery will be active
on the day of the opening fire and on the last day of the gathering. It
seems as if the symbol exists as potential on the first day — and I have
a feeling we will know if that potential has been met by the time the
gathering ends.

In between the first and final fire the Node will retrograde back to
four-degrees Aquarius and hold steady there until April 28th. Reading
the imagery it's easy to see what will be required of us during this
time — let's take a look at the Sabian Symbol for four-degrees Aquarius:

"PHASE 304 (AQUARIUS 4-DEGREES): A HINDU YOGI DEMONSTRATES HIS
HEALING POWERS

KEYNOTE: The disciplined use of spiritual energies in restoring the
natural harmony disturbed by man's inharmonic attempts to transcend
nature through mind.

Civilization implies a process of transcending compulsive and rigid
biological drives while making use, in a refined and mentalized way, of
what it cannot control. The goal of a true civilization — Western civil-
ization being to a large extent a caricature of it — is the development
of a humanity composed of self-motivated and responsible individuals
freely associating according to harmonic patterns in order to produce a
vast spiritual chord of consciousness fully actualizing the potential-
ities inherent in the archetype MAN. The process of individualization
and civilization is full of dangers, and for a very long time it is
obsessed by Karmic shadows, the results of individual and collective
deviations and perversions. Such results most often lead to disease.
It is the spiritual duty of individuals who have been able to tap the
vast reservoir of spiritual forces pervading our planet to use these
energies for healing their less fortunate comrades.

This fourth stage symbol refers to a technique which not only can be
used for the healing of physical illnesses but for the 'making whole' of
whatever has lost its natural root integration and has not yet reached
the holistic state of perfect harmony and identification with the
'divine' whole. Self-discipline, purity of motive, compassion, and faith
in the divine order are required — and the FOCUSING OF SPIRITUAL ENERGY".

If you've been wondering what the Ancestors Gathering is all about, the
two symbols make it pretty clear. It would seem that the implementation
process will require the Council of Ancestors to focus their wisdom and
their healing powers on restoring peace and harmony to our world. And I
get the sense that they have come to remind us of what we have forgotten
— because there are few who remember the original teachings and the
original ways: only the Indigenous ones have guarded those precedents
and kept to those ways — and I have a feeling their ceremonies will open
the space for humanity to return to them. In order for that to happen,
those of us who are present at this gathering need to remember that, "It
is the spiritual duty of individuals who have been able to tap the vast
reservoir of spiritual forces pervading our planet to use these energies
for healing their less fortunate comrades… Self-discipline, purity of
motive, compassion, and faith in the divine order are required — and the
FOCUSING OF SPIRITUAL ENERGY"

That the Elders are returning is one thing; what we need to keep in mind
is that we are all returning. Humanity is about to find its way home. If
you plan to participate, in Spirit or in the flesh, know that your
ability to tap into the spirit that lives, and breathes, and moves
through everything needs to be yoked to your ability to direct that
energy into healing both the planet and all of her people.

They say, "We are the ones we've been waiting for". It looks like it's
time to take our spirituality out of the ashram and bring it down to
Earth so that what's in our hearts can finally manifest outwardly. The
Elders are coming to show us the way. Our part in this has to do with
paying close attention to what they have to teach us so that we can know
what to do about the changes that lie ahead and balance ourselves in
preparation for them — because ultimately the intent behind the
Ancestors Gathering is to restore "the natural harmony disturbed by
man's inharmonic attempts to transcend nature through mind".


The Union of the Male and the Female

Venus and Mars will be within orb of a conjunction for the duration of
the gathering. In layman's terms, when two planets are conjunct it means
they're right on top of each other, on or near the same degree of the
zodiac. Coming out of the later degrees of Pisces, Venus and Mars will
conjunct the Aries Point between the 21st and the 23rd of April. In my
opinion, those three days are loaded with significance — and I'll tell
you why.

Venus is the female archetype; Mars is the male. Whenever they form a
conjunction it implies that the Male and the Female are vibrating in
unison because there's nothing to separate them when they're this close
together. Everyone knows how rare it is for the male and the female to
be in synch with each other — but when it happens, the sense of love and
oneness is so complete we connect automatically with the unity that
pervades all of life. During the gathering the emanations from the
Venus-Mars conjunction will infuse the event with a feeling of unity
that's bound to remove every barrier. With no duality, the polarity
factor that always exists just won't be there.

If that sounds wonderful, it gets even better. The two planets will
conjunct the Aries Point pretty much the whole time. That aspect will
be closest to exact between the 21st and the 23rd of April. To make
things more interesting, the Moon will join Venus, Mars, and the Aries
Point on April 22nd. My hunch is that the most important ceremony will
be held on that day.

I say this for a number of reasons. The Aries Point is loaded with
significance, but one of the things it represents is "all of humanity".
From the standpoint of Mother Earth, that point is doubly significant
because it governs the descending axis of her horoscope (Yes, Mother
Earth has her own horoscope) or the angle that represents who and what
she decides to be in relationship with. Because we are her children, and
she is our Mother, we are in a primary relationship with Mother Earth —
and that's why the Aries Point has come to symbolize all of humanity.

Any transit to this point sets up a resonance that ripples out and
impacts large segments of the human population. Ultimately, planets
moving over the Aries Point have the potential to touch absolutely every
one. With Venus and Mars functioning in unison, or the male and the
female vibrating on the same frequency, what do you suppose will happen
when the two planets come together on the point that rules every man,
woman, and child? If I'm right about the dates between April 21st and
April 23rd, the Elders couldn't choose a better time to do ceremony —
because on those three days the law of correspondence will instill a
sense of unity and oneness that will reinforce our efforts to focus our
energies on the creation of a new vision for the planet.

If the Venus-Mars-Aries Point conjunction isn't enough, the Moon will
cross the Aries Point, and join Venus and Mars at approximately 8AM on
April 22nd. I am pretty sure there will be a big ceremony on that day
because the planetary influences are perfect for it — and this will be
the one that the public gets to participate in, because the Moon holds
rulership over the general public too; when it meets the Aries Point
that energy multiplies times two — so I have a feeling April 22nd, and
the days on either side, will bring us all together as one, totally
unified presence. And because the Moon also rules the plant, and animal,
and mineral kingdoms, you can bet that the soul of every living thing
will be there for it.

As I write this the enormity of it really hits home. I keep getting the
picture of us finally remembering that we're all one family. I can even
envision all of us waking up to this simultaneously — because I think
that's what will be going on, on the etheric level — we will be awakened
to another, more respectful way of relating to each other, and to the
planet, and a whole new way of being will begin to come to life.

The thought that prompts me to see it this way came up while I was
feeding the birds; all of a sudden I remembered that the Aries Point is
the Alpha and Omega point in the zodiac; zero degrees Aries is where all
things begin and end! Do you get the picture? Between the 21st and the
23rd of April the music of the spheres will be singing one, unified
chord, and the planets, along with the Moon will call all of humanity to
get on that wavelength and beam up high enough to see that what appears
to be ending is really just the beginning of a whole new world. That we
live in momentous times is obvious — that we get to witness this and be
stewards for it is mind boggling.



Neptune, Chiron and Jupiter in Aquarius

There's another powerful conjunction that will be active throughout this
time; Jupiter, Chiron, and Neptune will be within orb of a conjunction
during the entire gathering. All three planets are sitting in the later
degrees of Aquarius, within two degrees of each other. There's a lot to
say about this configuration. It took me a while to figure it out but I
think I've got the picture; let me see if I can make it easy to under-
stand.

Jupiter has to do with the higher mind and our ability to access it. It
is the part of us that wants to grow spiritually. The natural impulse to
expand beyond the mundane is fueled by the faith that there is a First
Cause or some ultimate truth that absolutely has to be discovered. It is
for this reason that we have come to associate Jupiter with tolerance
and diversity; because his search for the truth takes him everywhere —
he is the archetypal seeker, always on a vision quest — and he often
finds himself hanging out with people whose beliefs are rooted in
traditions that are different enough from his own to catapult him into
seeing life and God from a totally new perspective.

Out of the twelve houses in the horoscope, Jupiter rules the ninth, and
it is the planetary ruler of the sign Sagittarius. The Sagittarian/ninth
house connection has to do with a lot of things. For the purposes of
this discussion we'll focus on its association with religion and
philosophy. Both the sign and the house are geared toward finding out
more about those things and that's why Jupiter rules them. Forty years
of doing charts has taught me that these three influences often point to
Indigenous or Earth Based traditions as the primary spiritual focus, or
the way that the client has to follow in order to connect with Spirit.
Stretch that observation onto a collective chart and we could assume
that the same thing would apply.

With Jupiter sitting in the sign Aquarius, the Aquarian penchant for
gathering together in groups of likeminded people will be layered over
the planets' need to move into a deeper understanding of the universe.
It seems as if we'll all be wide open to finding out why we've come
together and where we need to go from here.

That there will be a change, I have no doubt, because Chiron, the
maverick, 'Mr. Natural' archetype, is involved in this conjunction too —
and Chiron always calls us to take a different route. Interestingly,
this planet was discovered the year they introduced the Native American
Freedom of Religion Act into congress. A symbol for the aspect of Spirit
that is inextricably rooted in the wisdom of the Earth, out of all the
planets, Chiron is the hallmark and standard bearer for the Indigenous
people of the world..

In Aquarius, Chiron always reflects the need to bring some long awaited
dream to life. In an individual horoscope it usually means that the
native has had a deep desire, something they have always wanted to do
but have never found the faith to believe in their hearts that it could
be done. At a certain point they realize that if they don't start
believing it can be done, their life will never meet its purpose.

On a collective level this could translate as a group of people going
through the same process. Our long awaited dream could very well be
13,000 years old; or, it could be the wish that we've had since we were
children; either way, Chiron in Aquarius seems to be telling us that we
have finally come to believe in that dream firmly enough to make it
real.

Now, Neptune's blending his influence in with all of this too. The full
import of that connection could fill a book so let's look at the
condensed version and start off with Neptune's reputation as the
unconditional lover. He's the archetype of that higher kind of love that
lives beyond the finite, outside of possession, structure, and
expectation. Neptune's the one who tunes us in to love for all life,
everywhere; he's the one who knows we're all one.

Picture that blended with Jupiter's desire to grow and expand into new
realms of consciousness; it feels limitless to me. Neptune and Jupiter
together — with all that love, no boundaries, and a natural need to
expand — how far do you think we could go?

Combine this with the idea that Chiron and Neptune will be adding their
chord to the conjunction. This will open the channel to the higher
realms. That portal switches to wide open and full on when Chiron and
Neptune come together; it's a mind blowing thing. It's like a tube of
white light that goes directly to the Source and there's no stopping the
flow. And whether we are conscious of it or not we become in inlet for a
higher form of energy that can be used to heal pretty much anything when
that channel is open.

Imagine a group of people coming together with one heart under these
influences. The Jupiter-Chiron-Neptune conjunction is such a big thing,
it's almost too big to wrap my mind around. And because I am afraid that
the picture I've painted may be too subjective I thought it would be
good to check in with the Sabian Symbols to get a more objective
perspective. Since three planets are involved in this conjunction, I've
used the midpoint, and just for the sake of experiment, taken that and
calculated the midpoint between it, and the Aries Point.

For those of you who don't use or know about midpoints, they're a tool
that helps an astrologer figure out what the essence of a situation
might be. It's based on the concept of the Trinity. Most of the time,
when an astrologer interprets an aspect, they're analyzing the angular
relationship between two points. This is useful when it comes to getting
the general idea, but when you want to find out what's really at the
bottom of things, the answer to that question is usually held in the
point that sits halfway between the two points in aspect. The midpoint
is the "Holy Ghost" in the story and it'll tell you more about what's
really going on than any other element in the configuration.

That being said, the midpoint between the Jupiter-Chiron-Neptune
conjunction and the Aries point works out to be the 12th degree of
Pisces. Let's see what the Sabian Symbol book has to say about it:

"PHASE 342 (PISCES 12 DEGREES): IN THE SANCTUARY OF AN OCCULT
BROTHERHOOD, NEWLY INITIATED MEMBERS ARE BEING EXAMINED AND THEIR
CHARACTER TESTED

KEYNOTE: The ever-repeated challenge presented to the individual by
the group in which he has claimed acceptance — the challenge to prove
himself and his ability to assume responsibility effectively.

At any level of activity, sooner or later life demands of the
individual that he or she stand up clearly and unequivocally to the
ideal he himself has declared publicly his own. At the occult level the
testing seems to be controlled and irrevocable. The 'initiate' has
become a constituent part of an integrated field of mental-spiritual
activity. He is therefore controlled by the structural order of the
group. He is no longer seeking; having found his place, he must prove
himself able to fulfill the function associated with it. He is no longer
'free' as an individual, for he has become part of an integral Whole
operating under structural principles of immense antiquity.

This second symbolic stage of unfoldment stands in contrast to the
first in that the individual is now bound by collective laws and
traditions. At a mundane political or business level he is the junior
executive incorporated in a hierarchal institution. He has at all times
to prove his worth. QUALIFICATION is an apt keyword."

Underneath everything we've said about awakening to a whole new world
depending upon our collective ability to focus and direct our healing
energies it should be pretty clear to anyone who's reading this that
what we do to connect with Spirit isn't just about us anymore. All of us
claim to want the same thing; and in wanting it we have to assume that
having it will require certain things of us.

We are being invited to take part in an event the likes of which none of
us have ever seen — and if we are to participate, do we understand that
being included in this integrated field of mental-spiritual activity is
an honor? Are we willing to lay down our egos and our personal needs and
interests so that something greater can happen? It might help to ask
ourselves if we know how important this gathering is. What qualifies any
of us to be part of it?

Which brings us to a whole other issue; what I've written so far makes
it sound like we're all going to be walking on air for ten days — maybe
so, but there are a few things that could be problematic.

Isis squares Hopi in the chart for the first fire. Isis has to do with
splitting things into pieces and putting them back together again. She
fragments and creates factions, but she knows how to integrate too. Hopi
is the Indigenous asteroid. This asteroid also rules different forms of
prejudice. The one thing that could get in the way will be the tendency
for disparate factions to disagree on how things ought to be done.

Different tribes have different traditions; it would be naive to expect
that there wouldn't be some level of disagreement, even among men of
wisdom. It will be interesting to see how the Hopi-Isis square plays
out. Like I said, as much as she knows how to split things up, Isis is
just as good at bringing them back together — and the same force that
looks like it could divide things in the beginning, could also find a
way to integrate everyone's traditions without making one superlative to
another by the time the gathering ends.

Hades, the asteroid that governs mistakes, old debris, 'ancient history'
back breaking work, and whatever's going on underneath the surface, is
conjunct Klotho in the first fire chart. Klotho tells us what the
conditions are at the beginning of any venture. It's quite possible that
early errors and oversights could lead to complications that don't
become apparent until the last minute, or don't come to the surface
until it's too late to do anything about them.

On the mundane level the physical work involved in the preparations
could be more arduous and time consuming than expected. Anyone who's
signed up to help out with the mechanics of the event needs to be ready
to put out their best effort. Hades association with filth and debris
suggests that it would be good to cover the clean up/garbage/and Jiffy-
John issues with extra care; all the details need to be covered.
Whatever those tasks involve they will require more labor and materials—
more wood for the fire, more garbage bags and garbage cans, and twice as
much toilet paper!

Both Hades and Klotho square Zeus, the asteroid that has to do with
fires, displays of anger, and issues that revolve around, 'who's the
boss?' I have a feeling we'll need to pay extra attention to the fire
element — more so than usual; whoever's tending the fires needs to be
totally clear and on the ball — and whoever thinks they're the boss will
have to find a way to keep their ego and their temper in check.

On a totally superficial level, the Hades-Klotho-Zeus configuration
could manifest as some attendees getting miffed over the fact that they
have to live in primitive conditions for the duration of the event. If
you plan on participating, be prepared to spend a lot of time outdoors,
in the desert heat and make sure you've got the right gear. This won't
be Club Med — don't expect it to be.

As far as old debris, ancient history, and what's going on underneath
the surface; 13,000 years of cellular memory will flow through this
gathering — some of it will be laced with pain and torture — who knows
what that could bring up? Ancient emotions and instincts, memories of
things long forgotten could arouse anger over old humiliations, power struggles, and defeats — all these things will be floating around within this integrated field of mental and spiritual activity. None of us knows what we will be called to process during this gathering — but whatever form it takes we're going to need to be able to handle it and maintain our ability to focus on the work at hand at the same time.

I could spend another week analyzing the astrology of the Ancestors
Gathering but I think this thumb nail sketch will be enough to cover it
for now. If what's written here gives you a clearer sense of what's
about to happen and what it all means, it might be good to think about
how you want to participate. Regardless of whether you are here in
person, or choose to join the gathering in Spirit hopefully you
understand that this is no small thing. Our collective future is on the
line right now. All of us are part of it.

Look into your hearts and think of April 2009 as a time of prayer and
purification. Call up all of your dreams and picture them blending with
the smoke of the ceremonial fires that will be burning out here in the
Four Corners. May the light in the spirit of every man, woman and child
mingle with those flames, and with the spirits of our ancestors, and
with all of the invisible forces that are guiding our passage through
these changing times — and may the magic that comes to life at the
Ancestors Gathering serve to ease our emergence into the Age of Light.

Don Alejandro came and literally breathed the life right back into us
just at the right time-- especially after yesterday, and the fact that
we were looking at one more fatally hot day in this dusty field. The
heat was absolutely oppressive. Today's daily Mayan calendar lesson was
given by Don Alejandro himself. IMOX (pronounced "aakh"-- and believe
me, I've given up attempting to pronounce this language!)is "the day of
the hypnotist, the therapist, the midwife, the scientist. The energy of
this day has connection with the rivers, lakes, oceans and the animals
who live there; dolphins, whales, crocodiles. One can use the energy of
this day to ask for the opening of the 3rd eye and also to improve their
healing abilities" as quoted from the schedule. He said this is the day
that we can send our prayers up to the wind. (and on this day I sent
prayers for my brother and his girlfriend, who just got engaged on
Monday of this fortuitous week!) He continued:
Today is a day of Joy. We can sing, we can dance. We do not understand
each other's languages, but we speak to each other's hearts. This staff
in my hand (he held a carved wooden staff) was passed down to me and I
will pass it down. I am the 13th generation.

(I could not get close enough to see the detail of the carvings on the
staff, but I hope to see it again-- all the more reason to get the
video. Also, he mentioned the age of the staff, but I could not hear it
clearly. I will find out. I did hear the word "thousand". The question
is how many thousands of years old?) Don Alejandro talked about this
also being the day of the East, and while he spoke we got our first
good gusts of wind that we've had since we've been here. It wasn't a
dust storm thank goodness, but it certainly kicked up enough to get our
attention. As the wind came in and out no one cared about being covered
in a film of dust; it felt good in the heat as long as you covered your
eyes and orifices.

Don Alejandro acknowledged the work that was being done at the
Gathering, and it wasn't so much that he was saying anything that had
not been said before, but it was his energy that was immediately
apparent. By virtue of his presence alone, he lifted us all, and in
assuming his role as our strongest male leader, Grandmother Margarita,
our strongest female leader, finally had someone to match her own
intensity. He was just what we needed to bring the masculine and
feminine into balance on this day. Although I could not visually see as
much detail in the center of the circle today, I did notice how piercing his eyes were, even at a distance. Whenever his gaze crossed by my direction, it felt like a flash of lightning passed by.. I could feel the energy rising as he led us to begin singing and dancing with Joy. It was at this moment that a BLACK EAGLE soared above to join us, flying directly above our circle, circling directly above us, and then flew into a
white cloud. The elders acknowledged this and said that this is a sign
that we are doing things in the right way. Everyone was elated.

The dancing and celebration ensued for some time, and I ran across
Lakotas David Swallow and his wife Nyla on their way out for a pit stop
to get some bad bearings replaced on their car. Some of my new friends
from the 'hippie rainbow gathering RV' and I exchanged words with them
and Nyla reached out to take my hand, and again it was another powerful
energy exchange. Nyla Helper is shy compared to her husband, and I
notice she IS very helpful and welcoming wherever she is, in spite of
her shyness, and in a gentle way that is comforting to those who may be
unfamiliar with some of the things going on here. David speaks with
ease, and delivers serious messages with a great mix of 'sugar' and
humor to help the medicine go down, as well as being a very friendly
and patient teacher. God bless these Lakotas for keeping these huge
sweat fires going for three days in a row. It's quite a lot of work,
and in this heat nonetheless!

Don Alejandro then led us in a guided meditation, talking about the 3
axes that intersect and come together at the heart.. This meditation was
to help us bring in the 6th world. It was very trippy, and I almost
thought the sun was playing tricks on my eyes, but as he spoke during
this meditation I saw star patterns and ancestor faces and a pink cloud
swirling in a spiralling pattern.

Next, a marriage ceremony took place. How perfect for today, huh? But
first Grandmother Margarita had to be retrieved from down by the river
where she was singing water songs. Two people from the gathering, an
'older' couple, were to be married by Don Alejandro and Grandmother
Margarita! with Adam Yellowbird assisting. First Grandmother Margarita
led the ceremony in her Olmec tradition, followed by Don Alejandro in
the Mayan tradition. Grandmother Margarita made the man and woman each
state their name, who they were-- in terms of the paths that they were
walking, and the reason(s) they were choosing to be married. She then
presented her medicine: copal, because it remembers its divine origins;
sage, for wisdom; cedar, for?; sweetgrass, for sweetness; and cinnamon,
to keep the sweetness. (I must mention here that my other scribe/
messenger friend, Chris from Portland, took down this ceremony verbatim
and in it's entirety, and when he transfers it to a PDF document when he
gets back home, he will email it to me and I will share it with this
mailing list to those of you interested. I met him on the first day when
his ink was running out. I gave him one of my pens and tonight he told
me that he got 33 pages out of it!) Don Alejandro started out by saying
that this was not like a Westerner's marriage, this was forever. I must
say that this is the most comprehensive wedding ceremony that I have ever heard in terms of the vows taken. It was incredibly detailed, committing each to stay with the other in any and every possible circumstance. In other words, no way out-- Don Alejandro covered everything; he covered it ALL. As well, he repeatedly told them and made it very clear that they were not making these promises to him, but to the "four sacred rocks", because he might not be here, but the rocks will always be here, and the couple's promises will be recorded and held in the rocks. (I could not see the rocks
in the circle-- maybe later.) The marriage contract cannot be broken
unless the rocks have broken-- very unlikely. Man and woman must be
together as one spirit. Again, the BLACK EAGLE appeared soaring above
the wedding ceremony!, and that was its last appearance of the day. The
Peruvians played the most beautiful music I have heard come out of them
so far. They even had some fun by doing a cover song that I can't
remember the name of-- I'll hum it for you when I get home. Grandmother
Margarita even sang to the couple with the Peruvian musicians playing.
For a second I felt like I was at Elder Karaoke Night! Is there anything
this woman can't do? Ladies: feel the power! Everyone present really
focused on and honored this wedding.

When things finally wound down, Jim Beard announced that tomorrow we
should all rest. Many people are fatigued from their journeys to get
here and from the intense sun. He said our elders and the pilgrims who
have come here are tired. Some elders will be at Northern Arizona
University in Flagstaff, but they will be relating the messages of these
past days to the students there, basically reiterating what has already
occurred. Jim encourages us to take the day for ourselves, rest, take
our time driving up to the Grand Canyon and preparing for the following
morning's sunrise ceremony on the rim at Mather Point. So now we go
from intense heat to the cold of the Canyon. I just arrived in Flagstaff
tonight and I saw a tiny bit of snow on the ground by the Greyhound
station where I dropped my scribe friend Chris.

Jim also told us that we will continue to pray concerning the Hopi, but
if the Hopi do not agree to allow this Gathering on their land, that the
Navajo/Dine have agreed to let us remain on their land after we have the
ceremony at the Land of the Forgotten People.

I had an opportunity to speak with Adam Yellowbird regarding our prayer
bundles. They were not burned yet, they were mistakenly transported back
by our circle fire today (and well cared for), and were being taken back
to the elders fire tonight to be burned in their private ceremony. I
think this is a good time and place. I think being burned in the elders
fire is the best. Each night after these long days, the elders have
their own private gathering in circle, and continue to dance, sing, pray
and talk. It sounds just perfect to me. I feel blessed.

I told Adam Yellowbird about all our people in the Pacific Northwest,
about our participation in this event, and the ceremonies and prayers
that were sent out yesterday. His message to you is: let's all stay
connected and follow through with this work after the Gathering. I will
be providing him with contact information. ICA has also issued a
contract for signing to all participants of this Gathering, basically
asking for a commitment to live these spiritual values that we are
talking about. All of us here can take this home and send it out into
our communities exponentially. Adam was very happy to hear about our
involvement.

I also made a point to let Hopi Uncle Alan Saukie know about the
ceremonies that you performed, the prayers that you sent, and about
those of you who did see the black eagle. He was very pleased and and
was so grateful. He thanks you all for the work that you are doing.
Ruben was not present today, for I am sure that the Hopi discussion
continues-- everyone here can feel it.

There are so many possibilities for connections all around the world
here. Just yesterday by the river a Czech woman lawyer/therapist was
telling me that in her country she is struggling simply to teach women
that it is not normal to be raped! I know. I've been to Czechoslovakia.
She used women in our country as an example that could inspire them.
Steve reminded me of all the resources that we have to share regarding
domestic violence. Francesca and I also talked about Vaclav Havel and
the dissident Czech writers and artists of 'the thaw' in the sixties.
For those of you who don't know Vaclav Havel, he was a fearless
Absurdist playwright who opposed communist oppression in his country,
did time in prison, and went on with his impossible dream and became the
president of Czechoslovakia and to write books like "The Power of the
Powerless." This is a man who invoked the Spirit with complete faith.
Francesca also informed me that when she came through U.S.
customs to come to the Gathering, her entire handprints (not just
fingerprints) were taken, complete with pictures of both of her retinas.
She asked me why they needed to do this. I said: they need to intimidate
you, they need to violate you, they need to you to hate us so much that
you never want to come to our country again, just as our media needs to
fuel our fear always of other people and nations so that we remain
separate, untrusting, fearful, isolated and alone. I told her that our
country has become one big federal prison where everyone believes that
they are free. This is one of the things that Havel wrote about: simply
that Communism and Capitalism have accomplished the same end through
different means. So what. Many here, especially the South Americans,
have spoken about all the things that have been done to destroy their
cultures and their spirit, but all of us here have agreed that EVERYONE,
ABSOLUTELY EVERYONE, and culture and people has been raped, pillaged and
plundered, if not done the raping, the pillaging and the plundering.
This is the past. We have agreed to move beyond all this. Keep your
focus steady on the vision of the New Earth!

Some people are already talking about raising money to sponsor an elder.
We can do this and I think we should.

I am trying to begin a dialogue with the Bolivians from
Tiwanaka/Lake Titicaca and the Aymara translator, named Aymar, agrees to
help. I have only gotten questions from just a few people out there. If
there are questions I can ask for you while I am here, please let me
know!

The next thing is this sunrise ceremony at the Grand Canyon on Friday.
DON'T MISS IT FOR THE WORLD!

So I lied, I brought the computer and I'm glad I did because I don't
know if I could recall these nuances later. I don't know how these
emails are going to go after that, as I don't know if I can expect wifi
in the Dine motel. We'll see. Worse comes to worse, I'll telephone the
people that are in touch with alot of people to get the word out.


I tell you, I just can't wait for the Grand Canyon ceremony.

We Return

As Return of the Ancestors comes to a close, we're left with countless memories, and the radiance of pure love. Hundreds came, from all over the world. Each one a wisdomkeeper, each a jewel, blessing the Earth and her creatures with vibrations of hope, forgiveness, oneness.

In diversity, we discover our unity, the rich and varied flavors, colors, textures, smells and tastes of existence on planet Earth. Wherever we are on this blue sphere, we share a love that transcends seeming boundaries.

I remember.....

Gazing at the stars as small groups passed on the way to this program or that, chattering in their home languages. French here, Japanese there, many varieties of Spanish and North American native tongues. Meanwhile, the stars shone in clusters. As above, so below.

The ceremonies uniting the North and the South, the East and the West. The dancers, the musicians. Rinpoches and Medicine Men hugging, smiling, bowing, drumming.

The women sharing their prayers, their visions, their hopes and their dreams for a better world. Women, the life bringers, from Central America, South America, Europe, Japan, North America. Gentle, strong, confident, determined. Singing their songs, showering blessings.

Children running, dancing, laughing, playing. Carrying the light.

The embrace of Mother Earth, the hospitality of the people, new friends, ancient memories, native soil. Endless devotion. There will be more to share soon. This is a moment to savor.

The insights and integrations and inspirations are continuing to come through as my daughter and I are now back in California. We made the drive from Sedona/Cottonwood to Palm Desert and even though I ventured back into the LA area in our tow car yesterday, Spice Girl is happily parked and hooked up in Palm Desert ( I know, I know, Spice Girl is a silly name for a 32 foot RV, for one's home, but, they had the color listed as spice and it came spontaneously-- I told my daughter I wouldn't call it that, but she'll never read this :) A friend once said, Spice Girl?! Well, she's big boned I guess.


Anyways, after getting back to La La Land and Agapeland, www.agapelive.com, back with those who have been my spiritual comrades since I first found my way to the community in 2000, well, things that occurred at the gathering began to take on an even deeper meaning. There is so much appreciation for those that choose to hold a high space of love, compassion and joy- even if it doesn't get done perfectly, it gets done. Even if at times we seem to bumble along on our path, at least we are on the path, becoming ever more aware of all the trappings of ego, illusion, and, well, planned pandemics and planned profits for big pharma, and at the same time, ever more aware of our True Identity of "Inexhaustable Good" as the founder Michael Beckwith would say.


During the gathering I connected with several of the elders, many of which lived lives so completely different than we can imagine. Many were healers and shamans, and there was one in particular who captured my attention as a group of us had lunch under a shade tree in Dead Horse State Park in Cottonwood, Arizona.


I was a working volunteer that day, sporting my neon green 'harmony keeper' t-shirt, helping to direct traffic. Actually, I was not much more than a landmark by lunch time. Just someone for the person at the post ahead to refer to : "see that girl sitting under that tree in that bright green t-shirt? - turn left there".


So, I was happy and delighted when my post tree was chosen by several people to have lunch under, including a few elders and a translator. It turns out one of the elders, from Bolivia, was only 26. Not really an elder, but asked to come along on the trip, and if there was any consolation, the kids in his village referred to him as 'old man'. He was one of those shaman shapeshifters to be sure, since every time I looked at him he looked at little different. In fact, when he first sat down he looked like an elder to me and it was only after he started talking that I saw he wasn't that old, but then when he shared his age when someone asked-- wow-- now way.


He got to talking, through the translator, and it was clear he had a gift for channeling the divine energy through~ it was then that I realized that although I had heard a lot of wisdom in the previous two days, and had definitely felt some shifts with the many ceremonies, I had heard a lot of people talking about things, not so much with the energy. There were exceptions, but a lot of it was talk about, rather than talk with. Some in the mind, rather than the heart. There was talk about the Mayan Calendar, what we are coming to, the ways we are destroying the planet, the ways we can make it better, how we are all one, but, this talk under the tree was different.
After a little while he looked up and there were three birds flying in a small circle- not ordinary birds, but eagles. These same three had been flying above me when I was playing my music out by the green river the day before, and when he said that birds gather when he speaks I wondered if the birds gathered for my singing in the same way, and as soon as I wondered it I felt a strong sense of peace, a gentle kundalini, a confirmation.
When someone asked him how we can lessen our attachment to money, to not be bound by financial concerns and make them our primary focus, he picked up a plastic container of hummus that was sitting on the picnic blanket and said it was the problem. We all stared at him, waiting to see what he meant, this old-young-old-young man, sitting there on the grass, under that tree, holding a little plastic container, saying it was the problem of our obsessive money issues. It seemed silly for a moment, until he began to speak again. He said that in his village everyone works and helps in growing the food. People help to plant, to water, to harvest, to mulch.......no one pays for their food. He said that when you have to give money for what you put into your body you become connected to money in a way that is not healthy.
Now, that is a paraphrase, but it was the first time this connection, this thought, had ever been entertained in my brain. Wow. That is deep. Nature doesn't pay for her seeds, or water, or for the bees to pollenate, and when our physical survival is based on our ability to acquire something that is not even natural to us, it a way it makes a part of us unnatural, or at least dependent on something unnatural. Hmmm.... amazing food for thought. He went on to say that it is a little different when you pay for something that you wear, since it goes on the outside of your body, and not on the inside.
Now, I'm not saying that we are all contaminated with money or tainted by the unholy and damned dollar, but, what I am saying is what he said made me pause and think, and, I do believe, tap further into the vision of a world where people all work together to feed each other, take care of each other, love each other- not say, well, you don't have any of this money stuff, so you starve, sorry, I have my twenty houses to take care of. There's just something a little, you know, weird about that.....
which brings me to the weirdness I felt being on the reservation, but I think we'll save that for next time......gotta start heading back to the desert.....

Greetings, I am Mira.


I speak to you from the Pleiadian High Council. We watch over you. We guide you. We will stop at nothing to see that you and the Earth make it through your ascension process.


We were with those who attended the Return of the Ancestors. We have a commitment to the indigenous people of the Earth. We are most like them in our way of thinking and behaving on a planet. Their (Native American) language is close to ours. We send an outpouring of love and congratulations to those who completed the ceremony to bring forth the specified prophecy at the specified time on Earth. There will be no turning back.


It took a lot of energy to set the energies for this shift that occurred. It was almost like moving a mountain because the resistance and build up of the old energies had to be removed. The winds needed to be strong and pure. Our ships from various star systems were needed to oversee the clearing, to protect all who attended, and to be on the lookout for whatever might have happened. We were pleased to participate. You have no idea how much from the past was removed. What was set in the present and future are profound.


As a result of this gathering a lot of extra Light was anchored into the Earth. If you will remember you came from the stars and the indigenous people know this. It is now permissible to move forward with the energies for the New Earth. What was transmuted is now where it should be and that is off the planet. Great changes will be forthcoming. The groundwork has been laid. The preparations for this time have been set in place for a long time. It is a celebration on a grand scale.


At times we wondered if the Earth could be readied for what is next. There has been a lot of opposition. It took some strong brave souls to be present. They were all guided to be there with each carrying a part of the puzzle. They have connections from the past and were encoded with these programs to bring it all to fruition.


What is important is the love of the Earth, her people, her animals, and all of life. This love was spread far and wide. The elementals did an excellent job. They worked hard doing what they are best at and that is their job. The ground crew held things in place. You are all a part of this energy. The commitment is strong. The results are honorable and everlasting.


You will need strength in the changing times. You will need to consider the Earth and what is in your heart in making decisions for your own future. There is big machinery that would like to swallow you in fear but now this is impossible. The condor flies with ribbons of Light soaring to highest places in heaven right over your heads. You are with us and we are with you.


What you did for the Earth is part of the prophecy. Whatever rumblings and movement occurs from now on will be tempered by this ceremony. Unity is the name of the day. Love is how it moves. Each gesture from the heart is the cornerstone of the higher dimensional energies that will uplift you to align with us again. We repeat—thank you and congratulations.


Please know who you are, why you are on the Earth and where you are going. You have come a long way. You are unstoppable. Keep your eyes open, your hearts clear and enjoy the shift of all ages.
