Its scientifically impossible for the earth to be completely under water. period.
1) Why would god want to wipe EVERYBODY AND EVERYTHING out except for a 500 year old random guy?
2) How the fuck did noah live to be 500 years old?
3) And do you realize this 500 year old man travelled around the world and get every species of animal? The earth is about 25,000 miles around.. Thats a pretty big fuckin project for a 500 year old man.. How did he get across the ocean?
4)AND didnt noah realize that its not a good idea to put lions and deer in the same boat?

1) Our time on earth is but a blink in eternity. Either you go into eternity with God or destruction. The Earth was under Satan's delusion and all was lost. We are almost there again, but the word say there is a remnant/elect that will not be deceived up until the Secon Coming.
2) The atmosphere was differnt before the flood. Some speculate there was a canopy as some other planets have. the canopy kept in 50% more o2 under greater atmospheric preasure. These are very good conditions for a long life. Like being in a hyperbaric chamber. The animals were larger, possible man too, and he lived longer. We find some of our ancestors that lived longer today as neanderthal.
3) There were no large oceans at the time, which are a result of the flood. More land meant more o2 put out from the plant life. The Bible says God gathered the animals to the ark.
4) Apparently the animals were all gentile with the previous atmosphere conditions.
Its scientifically impossible for the earth to be completely under water. period.

the story of noah and the ark is complete bullshit.. how religious people actually believe it really went down, is beyond me.
OP
Your problem is - you are repeating a story you THINK you know but do not. Try reading the Bible and maybe you will learn the real story of Noah.
And the above poster is right - the flood did not cover the whole earth - only the part that needed cleansing.

Re: How Did The Entire Earth Flood During The Time of Noah???
Water is used a metaphor, for the cleansing power of pure water. The Earths soulless inhabitants, where removed in an act of cleansing. As for the retrieving all Earth living creatures, two by two. That was the 'Ant People', according to accent Hopi beliefs. To the rest of society, that's the "Aliens". The Hopi also have the 'Great Flood', as the last form of cleansing.

bullshit, if that happened we would not be able to recover complete skeletal remains intact. They would be thrown about never to be put back together again like humpty dumpty. Now if you want to talk about magnetic reversal, then you might be on to something.

Re: How Did The Entire Earth Flood During The Time of Noah???
The creation story was about a "beginning" and related to the dawning of an age of aquarius.
then there were 12 patriARCHs from the creation story to the flood story, and then another "new beginning" story about the dawning of an age of aquarius.
Then, there were 12 patriARCHs again until the "Sign of the baptism" story, and another "new beginning" myth, and here we are at the dawn of another age of aquarius.
Look at the astrological GLYPH for aquarius. It's a "water wave" above another "water wave". This is the "waters above" and the "waters below" of the creation story. The astrological GLYPH for aquarius is also the symbol for the "flood" story. Now, half of the astrological GLYPH for aquarius is being added underneath the "sign of the fish" that christians use. Aquarius is the "sign of the baptism", the "sign of the great purification", and the "sign" of a "new beginning".
Aquarius is the "first man".

Re: How Did The Entire Earth Flood During The Time of Noah???
There is a theory that people lived longer before the time of Noah because of a sort of layer in the atmosphere that held all the water up. Everything got water from springs in the ground.
G-d wanted to destroy everything/one but some random 600 year old guy because G-d wanted to destroy the things not holy, or good. Such as the giants. That's why the flood had to cover the entire earth.
if you notice (if you read the bible) people's ages started decreasing after that. That's because the water was now on earth instead of above it.

If rain fell to a depth of 10,000 ft. (a conservative estimate, insufficient to cover the mountains; actually "all the high hills that were under the whole heaven were covered" and Mt. Ararat is 17,000 feet high), the volume of precipitation would have been 393,000,000 cubic miles, which is 1.4 times that of all the water presently on the earth. This rainfall occurred in 960 hours, at a daily rate of 104 ft. Its "drying up" took 167 days. Where did the water go? If it had rapidly entered the interior of the Earth, one would have expected numerous Krakatoa-like explosions. If it had escaped into outer space, why was not all the hydrosphere simultaneously dissipated?

Re: How Did The Entire Earth Flood During The Time of Noah???
Here's another reference from Robert M. Best (Noah's Ark and the Ziusudra Epic). Interesting added fact, according to The Weather Channel: if it rained all of the atmospheric moisture we have at one time, the global depth of water would be ... one inch.
To this, according to Robert Best, we would need (actually a tad more, from a depth of one inch) 630 million cubic miles of water to cover everything to about 18,000 feet.

The thing that gets me is how the hell were all the animals in the world, within walking distance of each other?? The whole flood story is identical to Beowulf and many other stories in popular folklore.

It rained and poured for 40 days and 40 nights. Question authority every time. Ask them how that makes them feel. Ask them why? Ask them when you have an opinion with your opinion and question them with that! There is no being with ALL THE answers accept for God. Even still question. But trust if it's all good and loving then follow with your full heart believing. For the light will always be the light. It makes me a believer.
