it would be devestating and it is highly likely that the mix will occur in Egypt or Indonesia

the worst part will be after this Swine flu proves to be highly transmittable but low lethality...most people will poo poo it when the real nightmare comes along

food, water, ammo, weapons, battery back up solar, hand well pump, wood stove and 1 year of food...oh yeah PM's too...good luck

Avian probably already knows how dangerous it can become. Frankensteins dream. Scientists nightmare.

It's already airborne. Aachoo!

When two or more viruses infect the same animal or cell, the two viruses swap genes. Genetic reassortment.

As it mutates, it can either weaken or become stronger, or even combine the seriousness of H5N1 with the easy spread of human flu. And continue mutating and getting stronger. It's not known what H1N1 will do. But many scientists are probably having nightmares. Of a viral Armageddon.

I mulled it over between the truth and a simple, "you don't want to know." Because people usually don't. If it's any reassurance, it could weaken. Or it may not be real. If it were a multiple choice question, it would still be hard to answer. It's not like we can trust anyone anymore. lol

There's a case now where a woman from western Kentucky is in a Georgia hospital with suspected H1N1. She visited Mexico in the early part of the month. Other than that, she's had no known contact with it. Think about that one. At the beginning of the month. The virus shouldn't live that long. What if it did.

The virus shouldn't live long outside a host. Hours maybe. What if it lived longer on a vegetable picked by a sick worker. It'll be interesting to see what happens with that case.

Read the real news much? What everyone is calling the swine flu is actually composed of human, bird, and swine flu virus.

So it sort of already has.

Yeah.. since the beginning of the month. That's what worries me, how long does this flu live in infected victims, and is it a time lapse time bomb that we've never seen before?

THAT IS WHY EGYPT IS KILLING ALL THE SWINE NOW, THE NILE FLYWAY FOR MIGRATING BIRDS BACK AND FORTH TO EUROPE

ITS MOSTLY AN ISLAMIC POPULACE ANYWAY, IIRC I HAD READ THAT IT WAS IMPORTED LABOUR WHO WORKED IN THE INDUSTRY SUCH AS
INDONESIANS. ONLY ONE ABATTOIR? CAN'T BE MUCH DEMAND FOR BACON IN CAIRO AMONGST THE NATIVES

PROLLY FOR THE HOTEL/RESORTS/RESTAURANTS GEERED TO TOURISTS

THEY ARE ACTING TO ELIMINATE THE VECTOR BEFORE AUTUMN MIGRATIONS ARRIVE BACK HEADING SOUTH FOR WINTER GROUNDS.

VERY PROACTIVE ON THE PART OF THEIR GOVT. AND THO I ABHOR MASS CULLS/SACRIFICES, IN THIS INSTANCE ( AND THAT LOCALE WITH THEIR DIETARY LAWS ) I WOULD SAY THIS IS PRUDENT.

THEY CAN PURCHASE PORK PRODUCTS FOR FOREIGNERS AND IMPORT IT

I RECALL NOW, IT WAS ISTANBUL, NOT CAIRO, THAT RECENTLY ANNOUNCED LAST YR ITS LAST PORK ABATTOIR WAS CLOSING

"Istanbul's Last Pork Butcher Fights Islamist Crackdown on Swine" April 10, 2008; Bloomberg

HOG BUTCHERING IS AN ARTFORM THAT REQUIRES FATHER TO SON APPRENTICESHIP, AS IN COMPLEX RECIPES FOR SAUSAGEMAKING

PORK PRODUCTION IN EGYPT IS LIMITED TO COPTS WHO ONLY MAKE UP ABOUT 10 PERCENT OF THE POPULATION.

THE ISSUE IS SO SENSITIVE THAT DEVOUT MUSLIMS IN EGYPT WON'T ACCEPT AN ORGAN TRANSPLANT FROM A COPTIC CHRISTIAN AS THEY EAT PORK PRODUCTS. THEY WORRY ABOUT WORM INFESTATIONS IN ORGANS HARVESTED FOR MEDICAL PROCEDURES AND SURGERIES.

ITS ALSO WHY FENNEL WAS USED AS A DE WORMER/PRESERVATIVE FOR PORK SAUSAGE FOR GENERATIONS IN EUROPE FOR FOOD SAFETY

IN THIS INSTANCE, BECAUSE THEY HAVE ALREADY SEEN H5N1 IN THEIR COUNTRY, THEY ARE TAKING A PRO ACTIVE MOVE FOR THEIR NATION'S SAFETY FOR THE WINTER FLU SEASON 09/10.

It's technically possible but extremely unlikely that those pigs were any risk, other than a sanitary risk. Swine flu has been around quite a while and a human can get it, but it's usually a short, mild, illness. I don't think the experts think this virus, a subtype of swine flu, came from pigs. They aren't going to eliminate the vector til they do a mass slaughter of humans.

Thanks for mentioning that about them importing meat. I read today that Russia has banned any meat from Ohio.Could have big implications if countries start banning food from any state with H1N1.

Here's a clip from the article about Russia banning Ohio meat:

Russia bans meat imported from Ohio
Wednesday, April 29, 2009 3:03 AM

FROM STAFF AND WIRE REPORTS

Swine flu can't be caught by eating pork, but that didn't stop Russia yesterday from widening a ban on meat imports from Mexico and some U.S. states, including Ohio, where the disease has been detected.

Rosselkhodnadzor, Russia's veterinary watchdog agency, added Ohio and New York to the list of U.S. states barred from exporting meat into Russia. Earlier, Russia banned meat products from Mexico along with California, Kansas and Texas.........

LIKEWISE, WE BAN BEEF DUE TO MAD COW AND PROHIBIT PEOPLE WHO HAVE SPENT MORE THAN 6 CUMULATIVE MONTHS IN EUROPE FROM DONATING BLOOD, RED CROSS GUIDELINES TO KEEP MAD COW DISEASE OUT OF OUR BLOOD SUPPLY

HOGS ARE LITERALLY WALKING FLU INCUBATORS ON 4 HOOVES. THEY EAT "ANYTHING" AND DO NOT DISCRIMINATE OMNIVORE FROM HERBIVORE LIKE GOATS, SHEEP AND COWS.

HOGS WILL CANNABALIZE IN OTHER WORDS...AMONG OTHER THINGS

CAN BIRDS MIGRATING STOP AT HOG WATERING HOLES & SWAP DNA

DUCKS PASS FLU TO HUMANS IN CHINA ALL THE TIME. WE'LL SEE.

Pigs are one of the best animals for incubating a virus that can be acquired by humans. Sadly. But they've lived and mingled with chickens, turkeys, ducks, and wild birds on family farms for years and years, and there's never been this problem, other than a mild case of swine flu, H3N2? I forget, but anyway, this virus is different. Almost like it was created. You're right. We'll see. hf

Let's rock!
Question authority every time. Ask them how that makes them feel. Ask them why? Ask them when you have an opinion with your opinion and question them with that! There is no being with ALL THE answers accept for God. Even still question. But trust if it's all good and loving then follow with your full heart believing. For the light will always be the light. It makes me a believer.
