What you're seeing is normal. The average height of men is 5'9, so the majority of men are that height and shorter. The media makes it appear that the ave male is at least 6 ft, so we tend to think it odd when we see so many average and little guys.

I can tell you that you are right however. I was checking out a dating site and there are alot of TALL women on there even in PA...my area. Alot of them are beautiful..but they're like 6'2" for real! Obviously they are being genetically manipulated in some way. The pill is just one theory.

Cincinnati seems to have a surplus of short, pudgy, nerdy, and socially-awkward men. Wearing cheap knit shirts, jeans, and some form of "athletic" shoe is about the extent of their fashion sense. They smell of axe body spray, are generally too lazy to shave, and get short haircuts so that no measure of styling, effort, or care is needed.

One thing I've also observed is they always seem to travel in these little packs - mostly guys they went to high school with, because where you went to high school is pretty much the largest part of your identity in this city.

Somehow, this type of guy does seem to survive here in Cincinnati, but I believe it only to be on account of the fact that the women are so rarely presented with an alternative. In most other cities (Atlanta, Nashville, Charlotte, Miami, Dallas, Houston) they'd probably end up being old men cat-herders. It probably works out well that Cincinnatians are so xenophobic, clanish, and unwilling to leave...any other place in the world would take them too far out of their little comfort zone. Nobody would give a shit that they went to St. X, Moeller, or Elder.

The women in Cincinnati are a slightly different story. While there are many "plain" ones, Cincy does have more than its fair share of beautiful women, and in a pretty generous variety of "types." If you like blond-haired, blue-eyed, Germanic looking type, you're in luck. There is also a decent amount of the tall, slender, Nordic looking type. The drawback to Cincy women is that they are also a bit socially-awkward at times, and many do not have much of a sense of humor.

Do they like taller men from out of town that take care of themselves and can carry a conversation? Absolutely, and they treat them like rock stars. The most amazing thing about "average, ordinary" Cincinnati men is that they treat "average, ordinary" Cincinnati women like dirt. In all my wordly travels, I've never been to a place where the men had more unrealistic expectations than in the Queen City. I suppose, based upon the OP's assertion, that the willingness to hold out for a smokin', "out of his league" babe has paid of for some.

I was 5'10 and had a shoe size of 11 by 3rd grade being a female that was considered very tall a decade ago. But, if I look at the younger people of today they eclipse me I feel short. I used to live in a world not so long ago where I felt like a freak because I was so tall for my gender. Not anymore now I am the short person. One good thing that came out of it is I don't have to buy tall sizes anymore because the regular sizes are for what was tall a decade ago. And I can find size 11 shoes in stores when you never could before. So thank you giants! People say the food the water the air the sun yes I guess some sort of fostered mutation is happening.

My family too! My mom was the tallest in her family (5'3") and my grandparents and other aunts were not 5'. My grandpa, who was a minister, had to stand on a box to see over the podium. My dad is from a taller family, though. My brothers are both 6'4" and my sisters and myself are all over 5'8" - we look so strange at mom's family reunions with all these little people. LOL!
