I have a friend that has seen a bunch of the same stuff around Buffalo New York today.

In Western NY we saw odd aircraft today. Usually we see C-130's flying over, this is in a rural area near the Canadian border.

At around 1:30 PM we saw 4 grey low flying planes that looked like refueling planes - almost like C-130's flying East and very low. Generally when we see the C-130's practicing they fly North to South.

At the same time we noticed an Orange/Red airplane headed West even lower than the others. This was equally as large as a C-130 if not larger.

I cant seem to find any information on an airshow, especially on a Tuesday.

Could you see any markings, OP?

My wife called and said she saw something weird, described like an Osprey...I did some quick 'net research...

I post this in reference to the article stating increased military activity. Last friday 5/9/09 a strange happening occured outside of Romeoville IL where I have lived for the last five years since EAS. Two military ch-47 helo's olive drab with no designation appeared from virtually nowhere flying in low circular patterns and performing combat touchdowns. The strangeness of this being, I have never seen militay aircraft in the area ever and I live next to a large airfield that services small aircraft and leer jets. Yet the aircraft were nowhere near the airfield. To the best of my knowledge of my surrounding townships, they were landing in a commercial warehousing district in Bolingbrook IL. And to be noted, the Burlington Northern railroad passes a few miles from my home. Just recently I have noticed placed before the tracks a blue sign that reads "Danger Increase Rail Road Traffic". Many of these trains have been seen hauling military equipment. Thought I would share.

I posted about this on Sunday as I saw 3 separate flyovers...am in Buffalo Grove area. I was told that it is "Marine Week" in Chicago.

This happened over the Dallas Texas area a couple of weeks ago. 4 F-16 were basically dog fighting at very low level. So low we could clearly see the pilot. They were armed with sidewinders and other weapons. They were making very hard turns and flying very fast this lasted about 30 minutes. Very strange to see these fully armed like they were.

Weird. I am in the Naperville area and have seen weird planes today. Also, they are spraying chemtrails very hard all day. The skies look gross. Thanks for the post.

that would be kind of cool to go to. but i hate how they are just going to be driving towards navy pier.

Solved! I was aware of Marine Week but not of the MAGTF DEMO. That would explain what i had seen.

Hey OP ... I drove by Midway Airport on the SW side of Chicago last week and I saw a 'bigass' military transport plane parked with USAF on the side ... very interesting stuff is goin' on ...

If you really saw a "BIG ASS" plane, I would suspect it was Oprah Winfrey's private jet.

While I agree this is unusual, my dad was a pilot in the USMC. We were always attached to Naval Air Stations. When he would get his flight time in and I was a kid, he would buzz the house in his A-6 and F-4. I know he wasn't supposed to but he did. It might be something as innocent as that or it could be much more serious. Let's hope it's someone screwing around.

Wow Tommy, that's bizzare. I saw the exact same thing last Friday. Two CH's flying over Searcy, Arkansas, heading east. Wonder if it's possibly the same ones, though they would have been hundreds of miles from your location. I saw them sometime between noon and 2pm, didn't pay much attention to the time.

A couple of months ago a Blackhawk was flying over the same town at very low altitude. It was flying and making turns and hovering over a residential area, which I found odd. A couple of days later two apaches flew over as well. There are no army bases anywhere close. There is an Air Force base about 40 miles away but all they fly are C-130's. I found these helicopter movements odd.

Anyway, very interesting that we saw the same kind of aircraft on the same day Tommy, mils apart but in places where you don't usually see such things.

Wasn't Denise Richardson in town!
