Torture is immoral, period. Are we civilised, or do we still draw and quarter people?

I thought we were progressing, but this defense of torture is sickening. After WWII, some Japanese were put to death for waterboarding Americans, as war crimes.

Yet now we see some people saying it is okay. The same ones claiming moral high ground, actually.

How backwards.

We can only expect the same mercy we show. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

"We" never drawed and quartered people. That was the cruel bloody British that did that. Unbelievable that just 150 years ago they still were doing it.

Some japs were executed for a whole list of brutal tortures on US POWs included amongst thier crimes was waterboarding - so no! - no-one has ever been executed for the crime of waterboarding - but you knew that anyway didn't you!

Yup! - I guess it is more moral to cause some discomfort to someone planning terrorist attrocities - than to allow thousands to lose thier lives.

Um.... muslims believe that 'do unto others' applies only to other muslims - and captured prisoners have allways been routinely and brutally tortured - just for fun mind you, not because they might have vital life saving info!

How did you become so morally backward?, hmmm....what led you to this sorry state?

can you please ask our enemies to be a little more humane as well, to my knowledge all of the enhanced torture techniques are used in training exercises for our own troops.. But the enemy simply cut the heads off of our people burn the bodies and drag them through the street, now that is torture..

Daniel Pearle, comes to mind, and what of the bombings by our enemies of school children and the innocent..

Get over it, war is hell, where is Paton when he is needed ??
