I want to leave the US. What is the easiest country to move to?

I am interested in living overseas and becoming an expat. I don't have a great job right now, no family obligations and I'm single. I have always wanted to explore more of the world and think it would be awesome to live overseas. I have traveled extensively but only ever lived in another country for 6 months, 20 years ago. I lived in Japan.

Any recommendations for the cheapest and easiest country to legally move to? By easy I mean, getting visas or other permissions. I prefer a warm tropical place. I would also like to find some form of work while there. Volunteering is cool but I would need to make some money. I speak basic spanish.

Mexico is one consideration but I have heard that it is a hassle for Americans to live there.

any suggestions?

Stay where you are... you all voted for this mess or refused to rise up and do anything about it so you get to reap what you sow... no other country wants Americans... on second thought, you say you speak some Spanish.. it seems pretty bloody obvious where you should go...... SOUTH!!!!

Hmm maybe look into Belize. I seem to recall a friend talking about it. A long time ago...but still *shrug*. Official language is english. Its in Central America. Lots of countries there and in the caribbean...small ones...that I always see on tv people moving to.

Easiest? That would Canada or Mexico, you can walk to them.

Hmm maybe look into Belize. I seem to recall a friend talking about it. A long time ago...but still *shrug*. Official language is english. Its in Central America. Lots of countries there and in the caribbean...small ones...that I always see on tv people moving to.

Typical American attitude, think the world should change for them... you move to another country and bitch that you have to use a Spanish keyboard.... same attitude that has you all complaining when you travel because no one speaks English... the world doesn't revolve around you.... you don't like the Spanish keyboard, move your ass back to America.

How about the Aussie outback? You could basically camp out there???
