Seems like you are over 40, not high qualified, you want a tropical environment and a job easy to get. This will not work. I think he would love it here and so would you as a german :) It's always warm and sunny in Puerto Rico and he can speak spanish or english as he wants. If he already has a US passport he wouldn't have to do any type of paperwork or have to fill out any work visas or permits to remain for a limited amount of time. OP settle here, grab a beer, relax and enjoy our beaches and hot women |

The down side, you need to bring water purifier and extra filters. Beautiful, tropical and all organic farming. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1296781 Hong Kong 03/23/2011 12:32 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I am interested in living overseas and becoming an expat. I don't have a great job right now, no family obligations and I'm single. I have always wanted to explore more of the world and think it would be awesome to live overseas. I have traveled extensively but only ever lived in another country for 6 months, 20 years ago. I lived in Japan. Quoting: OssielAny recommendations for the cheapest and easiest country to legally move to? By easy I mean, getting visas or other permissions. I prefer a warm tropical place. I would also like to find some form of work while there. Volunteering is cool but I would need to make some money. I speak basic spanish. Mexico is one consideration but I have heard that it is a hassle for Americans to live there. any suggestions? Come to Asia and teach English as a 2nd language, travel around, fall in love eat some noodles ... Asia rocks and economically is were the party is at right now and for the foreseeable future |

A handful of dollars will get you a pig and someone to roast it. It's beautiful there, no commerce. Nice people. If you need something more upscale, go to Southeast Asia. A monkey could make the transition from the Americas to China, or Taiwan. More rewarding might be a move to Thailand. |

From there go find your paradise(Untold Islands, Belice, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, South America), speak MORE Spanish! You'll be fine, if you're serious. |

Stay where you are... you all voted for this mess or refused to rise up and do anything about it so you get to reap what you sow... no other country wants Americans... on second thought, you say you speak some Spanish.. it seems pretty bloody obvious where you should go...... SOUTH!!!! What an arrogant fool you are. I see you are in Canada. You should worry about Harper and the cozy relationship he had with Bush. There are plenty of people here who speak out, who fight on trying to change things. You think it's something easy to do? Lumping all of together as being all the same makes you a small minded bigot and also proves that idiotic fools can be found in any country. |
Private-Person User ID: 1445746 Mexico 06/27/2011 07:22 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I live in Mexico and it{s great! Except for these fucking Spanish keyboards! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 681511You can't plug an english into the osb port? Serious question. Typical American attitude, think the world should change for them... you move to another country and bitch that you have to use a Spanish keyboard.... same attitude that has you all complaining when you travel because no one speaks English... the world doesn't revolve around you.... you don't like the Spanish keyboard, move your ass back to America. Mexico is great , I have 6 years here , Only thing wrong here is the same as in USA so I dont think youll get away from it, Its full of Mexicans here besides that its a great place. They are like Roaches they just keep breading in fact there are more mexicans outside Mexico then In Mexico even there president said there plan is to bread us out in the us and then take over not long now.... |

I'm female, pushing 50, decent looks, very athletic and great health and Spanish is my native language. Obv I should go to SA at some point when I bail...but which country for me? I am trying to save some coin to go with cash for buying land, protection, etc. But literally...I'm equally comfortable speaking Spanish as English. I have a master's degree too, can teach sciences (certified in US). Just kinda curious. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 55961622 United States 03/22/2014 10:34 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | you might want to give puerto rico a shot, its extremely close and cheap to get too, with most if not all of the american conveniences that your used to(if you live in the states) and even though spanish is the main language, just about everyone understands english, even though they might not speak it. good luck on your travels. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 681526 And I've read that everybody there is on welfare and food stamps.... |
