The Obama playbook: information overload

One of the things that one increasingly hears around and about among the millions of Americans who are clearly disturbed by the direction in which Obama is taking the country is that so much information is thrown at us that it's difficult to keep up.

Once the opposition studies a proposal or a statement of policy and formulates a thoughtful response, Obama and company has moved on--way beyond--with a string of further proposals and policy statements.

And this is precisely a major part of the Obama playbook. I call it 'Operation Information Overload.'

The gist of the plan is to bombard the public with so much information concerning changes and policy initiatives that it becomes impossible for the human brain to process it. The rapid-fire dissemination of information on what Obama plans to do is faster than the pace at which the brain is able to adequately assimilate it. The result is that most people give up, and the media lets things that should be investigated slide so that they can deal with the latest string of information the Obama team shoots at them.
No doubt this is by design.

While the electorate, the loyal opposition, and the media attempt to decipher, understand, assimilate, process, interpret, and formulate a response to the barrage of information they have been given, much harm can be done behind the scenes while no one is paying attention.

This is precisely how Obama has succeeded in giving the electorate, even most people who voted for him, much more than they bargained for. Most Americans had no idea that by voting for Obama they were signing off on 10 trillion dollars' worth of debt over 10 years, a quadrupling of the deficit in one year, the federal government assuming it can fire the executives of private corporations, or the multi-billions in tax increases Obama will be forced to levy on the public, even the middle class, in order to pay for the debt he has incurred.

And while most Americans have been left scratching their heads, Obama has succeeded in putting the country on the road to financial ruin. As Myrtle Beach Conservative Examiner Nancy Morgan states in her explosive column, 'The Devil in the Details,'

"Our budget deficit in 2009 will top $1.8 trillion dollars. That's a 400% increase over last years' deficit. Translation: For every dollar the government spends, .48 will be borrowed. Budget office figures released Monday would add $89 billion to the 2009 red ink — increasing it to more than four times last year's all-time high.

One doesn't have to be an economist or a degenerate gambler to know that a house built on sand eventually collapses. We're already seeing it. The United States posted its first April deficit in 26 years, a record $20.91 billion shortfall. But not to worry, Obama is going to cut $17 billion. Whew."

Even Obama himself stated before an audience on Friday that the nation cannot sustain the level of debt and deficit spending that he himself has run up. And how would he propose to fix it? Simple. Get set for monstrous tax increases that will dwarf anything we've ever seen in American history, beginning next year.

Once again, Morgan states,

"President Obama's "Budget Blueprint" proposes to raise the tax rate on dividends and capital gains from 15 percent to 20 percent. Heritage Foundation says: "This works out to $27 billion of lost value for current and future retirees unnecessarily redistributed to Congress. That works out to $434 of lost retirement savings for each family."

In case we the people object, Obama has also proposed nearly doubling funds to enforce U.S. tax laws next year, with an aim of more than quadrupling funding for tax compliance to $2.1 billion within five years. Tax compliance means IRS. You know, the agency that wields absolute power over each and every one of us. (Correction: over everyone who is not an elected official or heading up a government agency).

And then, to top it off, there's this little item:

"Next up: The Obama administration will propose $60 billion in new tax increases over 10 years on wealthy estates, businesses and others to pay for an expensive overhaul of the health-care system. After all, the rich are only rich because they exploited the poor. And the poor, (again, as defined by the left) have a right to health care, just as they now have the right to housing, education, absolute equality and the right not to be offended. Its called social justice. And its a wonderful thing, allowing our elites moral cover as they pick our pockets bare."

The devil is in the details, indeed! The Morgan article is a must-read for anyone who wishes to become truly informed about the many ways Obama is changing the face of America while the faces of America are not paying attention.
We had better start paying close attention or we will most definitely lose the most affluent way of life the world has ever seen.
