I got suckered into buying $180 worth of door-to-door steaks today, should I eat it? is it safe?

The fail is strong with GLP tonight. All kinds of life failures are venting their frustrations on here, sharing with us their utter failure in all that they do.

Dude they might be safe but most likely not grade A. I tried some of that stuff one time and it was tough. The ground beef patties had bits of bone on it stuff like that. You just gotta learn to say no. Hopefully you learn before the vacuum salesmen find out where you live and talk you into a 1k dollar vacuum.

I have. People steal it from the grocery store or meat market and then sell it on the streets. I had a friend who did this to support a drug habit.

Cook it to 180 degrees. get a saw and eat it.

Its safe, but its not choice meat. It will be grisle and fat and low grade...like a steak from ponderosa. If you got anything like chicken patties or veal cutlets that are breaded....just toss them now. Its a scam, just like the guys who sell speakers in a van in bank parking lots on fridays. Cheap ass stuff sold at about the same price as you would pay at any store.

How much did you get for 180$, call a local butcher shop, i bet you could get grade A fresh meat for the same or less....and support your local businesses.

Is it a particular brand like Omaha (they are mail order) or is it just a bunch of meat wrapped up in paper?

One time I bought 25$ worth of door to door steaks from people who really didnt seem trustworthy and I didnt die.

The quality was similar to the Wal Mart steaks wrapped in bacon (ripoff fillets )

Thats all I bought was the ones wrapped in bacon.

They said they would be back in a month and never to be seen again.

I wouldn't let most of those "types" wash my windows at the gas station. (They'll steal the wipers, the valve cap covers and the emblem if it's not screwed down tightly. MBZ stars are VERY popular with that set and they don't pay $300 for them at the dealer as a replacement part! And by "those" types I mean cheap hustlers of any race, creed, or color. It's not a uniquely black thing. We have Indians in LA that go around at coffee shops offering to read palms, tea leaves, etc. Until they find some lonely tourist who usually loose his wallet or purse or watch and rings and sometimes his/her car, too. The tourist wakes up with an odd hangover to find the $$'s gone. Sometimes they get screwed literally and sometimes they don't. (Male and female - equal opportunity rapists, I guess.) And the LAPD and LASD can't catch the fuckers or if they have they couldn't make the charges stick.

I bought some of that. It's like the other poster says, it's just a bit tough, but mine was definately edible. The ones he said were filets were actually some lesser cut of beef, shaped like filets. lol, I just cut small pieces

There is some meat company in Texas that's always coming to Arkansas to sell door to door. I don't trust them for quality or price.
Meat shops used to screw people all the time with their specials.

black folks in my neighborhood were always selling things that "fell off the back of a truck" like tv's, computers and frozen meat, like breaded chicken and such.

Coast to Coast is a very popular company that does this, they normally have a deep freezer equipped pickup truck. Its not dangerous, its probably just really cheap meat. Like i said like the shit you see at ponderosa or denny's. Unfortunately if you do the math you probably spent like 8$ a pound and for that you could buy nice steaks at the supermarket or really nice steaks at the butcher.
