Brazil and China forge closer trade links
They are building very strong economic and political connections with a lot of these leaders. I don't think that is in our interests

US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton

The meeting between the Presidents of Brazil and China in Beijing on Tuesday brings together two powerful forces among the world's developing nations.

Against the background of the economic crisis, and strengthening bonds between the two countries, Presidents Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and Hu Jintao will have much to discuss.

China has been a "strategic partner" of Brazil for some years, but the high expectations surrounding this relationship have not always been fulfilled.

At a difficult time for economies everywhere, however, the last few months have brought some encouraging news for South America's biggest economy.

Despite fears about the impact of the crisis, Brazilian exports to China have grown 64.7% in the first four months of 2009 when compared with the same period last year.

During March and April, for the first time, China became Brazil's biggest trading partner, displacing the United States.

China has to find new markets for all the stuff it makes since Europeans and Americans have stopped shopping.

Brazil is not likely to go Communist. It depends far too much on the travel business and outside investors to do that.

Brazil, like China is quickly breeding itself into oblivion and needs jobs for all its retchedly poor people.

It would be surprising if they didn't make some trade deals.

You may think as unimportant but Iran has made a very strong relashionship with Brazil as well as many nations in South America.
I just think that it is far too late for America to do anything about this and before they know it, they have lost all power in every region. Right now USA/UK are tied in ME. Can not go forward or back down. They are truly stuck.
Iran, China and Russia have played a very good Chess game.

Re: Brazil and China forge closer trade links
China has been building strong relationships in South & Central America and Africa, right under our noses, for almost a decade now. They have cut us out in our own backyards, after hundreds of millions of our investments and AID packages.

The Bush Administration sat with its thumb up its ass the whole time, pandering to cronies.

This was all planned long ago and has been obvious for some time. All it will take now for China to push us out and dominate us in the Western Hemisphere and Africa is for the dollar to fail. And they have their fingers on that button, too.

Brazil and Iran - that relationship will last only so long as the Iranian President/Resident Nutjob decides it is time to kill all those Catholic Infidels.

And when the Brazilians realize that they are the Infidels/Christians he wants to kill or convert.
