I think there are hints in the movie; The Rocky Horror Picture Show:

1) When Brad & Janet are in the cars, it just got a flat, there is a red star in the sky in the rear window.

2) When Brad & Janet take the elevator up to the lab, they look back at the romm they were just in: it is totally changed.

3) The doctor was killed by anti-matter guns. The book, now just released movie Angels & Deamons, is about a bomb of anti-matter.

4) The doctor turns some (elect?) into stone, or a semblance thereof, and then brings them onstage. Who are the ones turned to stone, to then be brought in the spotlight? All of us humans on Earth? Something about to happen to us, and therefore we are being watched?

They get onstage, then go into some sexual trip, then comes the aliens with their anti-matter guns. Is this what happens to us? We trip out, for some reason, then the LHC does something to us?

5) The first camera pan of the movie is on a cross. This planet is cross happy, at this time. One connotation of a cross is 'crossing over', is that what we are or about to do?
