The next step towards an Authoritarian American Government: Obama Administration Media

It may seem innocuous, but the implications are rather far reaching. When the general media is cut out of the loop, and the Obama Administration Media takes it's place, who asks the questions? Who takes the pictures? Who speaks truth to power?

Nobody.

Do You Want Your OTV?

May 20, 2009 5:56 PM

On April 27, President Obama welcomed the University of Connecticut Lady Huskies, who had just won the NCAA women's basketball championship.

After the event, President Obama went to the White House basketball court to shoot hoop with the Lady Huskies. The White House press corps was not allowed to attend.

Reads the print pool report from that day: "After shaking hands with the team's parents and members of Congress who showed up, the president walked the team over to his basketball court and shot hoops. The pool was held back from the stroll down the drive and around the corner, and couldn't see the court. Poolers could hear periodic cheering coming from the other side of the bushes."

Read the TV pool report: "Your Pool was not allowed to go over and shoot POTUS with the team shooting hoops. We protested loudly."

Now we know why: Obama White House officials decided to do their own media report on the visit, complete with cuts, interviews, and chyrons identifying who's speaking.

Also, just like a network, they have their own little logo!

Cute!

It's perfectly fine, of course, for the White House to put out its own version of events -- but is it right to do so by preventing actual reporters from covering something? (Even something like a pickup basketball game).

Do Obama White House officials think their media coverage isn't flattering enough?

Is the goal to ultimately replace the pesky photographers who film what they want to and not what they're told to (not to mention the annoying reporters who ask uncomfortable questions about, say, detainee policy and bank bailouts)?

Do you want your OTV? (I'll bet there are a few takers out there.)

Today, Glorious leader O participated in a game of Basket Ball, invented by Glorious leader himself during his youthful adventures on the moon.

Comrades felt joy and virtue at their happy game with Glorious leader.

All comrades are required to enjoy physical virtue games at communal joy zones at least twice a week.

Everything is wonderful, comrade workers all across the homeland rejoiced in a spontaneous demonstration of joy to celebrate their happy new lives.

Well, the GOP blocked Ron Paul, so....

There was no choice in the election.

Its not like the GOP gave us an opportunity to vote Obama VS Ron Paul.

So... FUCK THE GOP.

The media whores, MAYBE realize the party only neeeds one mouthpiece. Only adoration can be disseminated and they chose to criticise and question. Now they too claim the title of useless eater or even better subversive.

I agree, the implications are staggering, and inevitable from what we saw during the run-up to the campaign.

Do people understand how, if truth and reality is manipulated unfettered, that they are done for?

Did the media balk at this? Rise up as one to protest and make a stink? No.

When I was in that God-directed battle with the nephilim in that town I mentioned in the thread a few months back, the demonic battle was carried out through newspapers. Why? Newspapers is where people get a picture of their community reality. It is how they make sense of what is happening around them, and, how they decide how they feel about it.

For many years, there had only been one paper in that town and they only printed what TPTB wanted them to print and nothing else. Late in the game an independent paper started. The important thing, the first thing, the demon had to do was crush the independent newspaper and ally with the government friendly lap dog newspaper. That was important because up till that point prior to the new newspaper starting up, the lapdog newspaper controlled reality. They had done a good job of publishing what TPTB wanted published, and slowsly closed the noose over the town thorugh lies and misrepresentations.

If what is being represented in black and white was their truth, the people had no other recourse but to swallow it. Or get angry about it but in so doing become disenfranchised and thus fail to vote, which only meant more of the bad guys getting into power.

In addition to reality being controlled by what people understood about events happening around them (or suppressing news of events TPTB did not want known), was fomenting emotion. Because there was no check or balance on the truth of what was happening in town (regular events like council meetings, school board, police blotter) it was easy to make the public feel what they wanted to feel.

So what you had by the end was an angry, uninformed, disenfranchised easily manipulated population.

Sort of like now.

I don't mention this because I want this to become a discussion on nephilim, only to relate what I experienced and saw, and that I think this is what is happening now on a national scale. Taking the same principles from a Christian battle to a historical one, or a sociological one, Naomi Wolf's ten Steps to Fascism has "controlling the press" as #8. No matter what a person's chosen battlefield is, as Christian, as citizen, as American, as a man or a woman, no matter what the battlefield, controlling the press is key! Here is the point:

“In a fascist system, it’s not the lies that count but the muddying. When citizens can’t tell real news from fake, they give up their demands for accountability bit by bit.” -Naomi Wolf

Ok, I have a few issues here. One the President IS A PUBLIC SERVANT and if media coverage is permitted at all it MUST be done by the people. Barring camera's photographers, and journalists from an event or private session etc... is perfectly acceptable. However to prevent the "People's Media" from covering an event that is being covered by the CPSU Central Committee is just ludicrous! Had Bush pulled a stunt like this, you people would have flamed GLP into a server crash.

Once again I am scared for the future of this country.

I have also provided a link to the Website for the government run media wing. That is if you want more coverage like the above.

This is why this Administration is going on about bailing out certain minority newspapers and media outlets that are failing, but not others... of course they could bail out all the media by using US Taxpayer dollars to buy them out, then as the new owners they can appeal to the Freedom of the Press and Freedom of Speech in publishing all their government propoganda.

Sometimes I think the US Constitution is a two edged sword and has much in common with the actions of the blades of a swirling bent cross... think lawnmower blade.

PUBLIC SERVICE OBLIGATIONS OF STATE-OWNED MEDIA

A paper delivered by ADINOYI OJO ONUKABA at a workshop on “Media Institutions and Capacity in Nigeria” at Regency Hotel, Ikeja-Lagos, on October 18 – 20, 2005

I have been asked to speak on Public Service Obligations of State-owned Media in Nigeria. I would like to quickly say that I do not believe that the state has any business owning and running media institutions or any other business for that matter. The business of government is to create the right environment for the media under private ownership to thrive and fulfill its constitutional role as the watchdog of the society. I am happy to note that the federal government has completely divested from the print media.

It is also my considered opinion that state-owned media institutions are not specially placed to perform public services that the private media cannot do. What often pass for public service obligations among state-owned media institutions in Nigeria are narrowly defined to mean obligations to the government in power at any particular time.

When the Daily Times (which I had the privilege of managing from 1999 to 2003) turned itself into the mouth-piece of brutal and venal military regimes in the late 1980s and 1990s, the leadership of the newspaper justified its action on the need to prevent a break-down of law and order in the country, to promote peace and harmony and to defend the state (government) against the revolutionary zeal of “radicals” and “anarchists”.

sound familiar???

best quote: No media institution can survive if it is perceived to be working against its own society.
