We have lots of wild strawberries growing around our house. I love picking them to eat right before I mow the lawn each week. My wife hates them because they take over the walkway that she made (but never weeds or cares for). I'll give it a whirl. |

Try Raspberry, Blackberry and Blueberry, Same rules - make sure no chemicals have been used on them and use either fresh or complete dry (2+ weeks drying time)- the wilt stage creates a mild toxin. From: [link to www.healthtips101.com] Blackberry/ Raspberry Leaf Tea When used as tea, one will experience the tangy and fruity flavor of blackberry/ raspberry leaves. Some will prefer adding honey, and thats to avoid the tartness of this concoction. High in Vitamin C, trace minerals, and iron, the tea can be taken with ice, hot, or creatively frozen into Popsicle sticks. In addition, it has high calcium content and can aid in abundant milk creation. To enjoy this popular herbal tea, use young leaves of the blackberry/ raspberry plant or those that have completely dried. Make sure it is not old dried midway, as the leaves become toxic when partially dried or have wilted. It is not fatal but causes dizziness and vomiting. A handful is needed for every pot of fresh blackberry/ raspberry leaf tea you prepare, while half a cup is needed for the dried leaves. Steep in boiling water for about 10 minutes. Try not to mash the dried blackberry/ raspberry leaves as it can bring out more tartness. A finer flavor is produced when the leaves are intact |
