Everybody should know about it

First, you have a Mantoux test, to determine whether you have already been exposed to TB. Then, if the test is negative, you can receive the BCG vaccination.

It was a routine vaccination in the UK. Apparently it's not routinely given in the US, which might be why you thought there is no vaccine.
