Is there such a thing as selling your soul to the devil?
Ok guys and gals, its a late night and I have done some pondering.

Have you ever wondered why some people who lack not only intelligence, but common human decency rise to power? I mean look at our Illuminati, our elite. Natural selection should have taken those inbreeding wacko's a long time ago. How many Senators (or Presidents for that matter) have mucked up speeches with their nonsensical teleprompter-set-on-slow-speed public appearances.

The question I pose to the great intellect of a group of awakened intelligent individuals, you, is as follows:

Depending on your belief, selling your soul can be either mean abandoning morals and decency, or it can mean religiously abandoning salvation for temporary comfort.
Is there such a thing as selling your soul to the devil for profit or gain? If so, why does almost every famous or in power person do this

I realize this is a deep scoped question, but I am curious. Why does the average man struggle for survival and perhaps maybe one day a used car, while Tom Cruise nibbles on placenta?

Re: Is there such a thing as selling your soul to the devil?
They are far more natural at selling their souls, thats why. To them, its easier than it is for most people because they probably never had "souls" to begin with. And your initial question... to "sell your soul" in my opinion means giving any part of you away by ignoring your gut feelings and emotions, to an entity that would USE you for profit or gain.

You would have to want money, fame, or fortune very much to even have the ability to give yourself away for a small percentage of profit that entity makes by using you.

That is a very enlightening post. Once you get past the facade of those 'successful people', you realize that they are in fact shallow.

That also seems like a possibility, the random roll of the dice. As far as a rapist winning the powerball in prison, that is Irony at its best. I guess maybe he wont have to trade shower dignity for cigarettes anymore however lol.

I just feel in a philosophic mood so I am curious what everyone thinks. Valid insightful points so far.

Re: Is there such a thing as selling your soul to the devil?
the answer is depth of desire

not the devil

though the deepest rooted desire often leads to indiscretion

what makes a star a star?

luck?

no...

brains?

not necessarily...

desire most certainly

how bad do you want it kid?

enough to "sell your soul to the devil"?

:>

it's a hell of a ride

you know you want it ;)
 Quoting: ^TrInItY^

Hahahaha Trinity. I wasn't looking to actually sell my soul for profit. You do bring up rather interesting points however.

I guess desire does figure into the grand equation of human behavior. The point that desire over-rides the morals of a possibly decent human being.

A very thought provoking post indeed. Almost makes me want a late-night placenta meatloaf snack... Almost.

Re: Is there such a thing as selling your soul to the devil?
There is also agreement and disagreement in the activities done by the entity that has literally purchased you because of your skills.

If you feel you agree with their practices, I think it isn't necessarily "selling" your soul or whatever, but more like cooperating.

Although when these practices are bad in nature, which cause unnecessary harm to others (Monsanto, RAND, Illuminati, etc) then that person would have to have the ABILITY to deal with what they are doing, because I believe personally everyone CAN if they really wanted to, to be GOOD people, and do good things.

Actors, famous people... those are petty, shallow people because they let this lack of self-control of desire, to actually envelope their souls into oblivion. Do they ever recover? I don't fucking know, and I don't think I care. Sure, I may enjoy their work... but the general idea I get when thinking about Hollywood or whatever, isn't necessarily all that great.

Ahh, I totally see what you are saying. In this pondering of mine I had forgotten to include pure ignorance.

From what I got from your post, it is like the little kid getting pulled into a life of crime and profit as a drug runner for instance. Add a few more years of wisdom, and a way to achieve a misconstrued life-goal and you have a sociopath.

Enlightening. I love intelligent conversation.

Yes, whether you are religious or a believer or not! It would better be described as leasing than selling, because most people can change their ways.

Good examples are excessive pornography, especially participating! Swinging, thievery, and any form of large scale dishonesty, including "following orders".

Once you have compromised your soul, you need to have some kind of redemption, to regain it!

Brilliant!

I always used to doubt religions as a way of limiting the achievements of a civilization for the benefit of the rules. While some in charge still do this, I see the actual intended purpose of religion now.

While religion may seem backwards and limiting, even to me, it is totally necessary. Without limitations and moral boundaries, the ignorant humanity would just eat the entire contents of the cookie jar.

Nah, it's not authoritarian control (limitations, boundaries, rules).

It's self control. It's discipline.

If you are aware of the difference between good, and bad... you can gain the self control necessary to not go beyond the good in general.

To kill another being on this planet seems like a common practice, but IMHO it is not. The spotlight will always be on the ones who crossed from having the ability to live a peaceful and good natured life, to a life of corruption, crime, or whatever.

If outside control is necessary; such as a religion.. which is what I view it as.. then the people who fall into THAT trap have also lost self control.

I do see what you are getting at and it is correct. If humanity were perfect I suppose and not so self absorbed, religion would be nonsensical. The way it is now, it is necessary for all of humanity to have a boundary.

Maybe we just need to work towards a grey race.

The devil is your shadow self. some people can't reasonably process shadow material and bring their unresolved shadow material into existence. Like murderers, e.t.c. All boils down to hate, greed, and fear. just let it go.

The ability to know limitation should be learned on ones own.

To believe one cannot do this, is to lose faith in humanity.

Realistically speaking, not everyone can; thus the need for physical boundaries.

But you must understand the consequences of initiating outside control; "satan."

There may be no going back; but only towards death.. and the innocent suffer most.

The more Grecian approach. The Pathos approach. It does, however, make perfect sense that humanity seems to be driven by one of these forces. It seems that fervor and dedication is present not only in swindlers, but also in patriots and more noble callings.

Re: Is there such a thing as selling your soul to the devil?
It all really boils down to mental and emotional capacity and wisdom.

There are geniuses who kill and average-IQ people who kill. The same type of people would work for an organization that kills, robs, rapes, or kidnaps. Intelligence is not necessary.

Capacity is.

Control is not necessary, thus letting yourself "go" is easier.

Religion is like an insanely written metaphor to what is actually seen behind the curtain.

We are only numbers to the federal, state, and local governments. Numbers change slightly. Imagine looking at these numbers for decades. W/o mental capacity or self control, you'd get brainwashed and not see the actuality behind numbers on paper.

The way leaders currently "lead" is pathetic.

The way the cattle allows this, is simply painful.
