I have a defaulted Checking account

popped up somewhere from 2 years ago.

Apparently my wife did something, not me.

Anyway, collection agency wants to collect $600 settlement.

I was adamant that I'm not paying a nickle because it doesn't show on my credit report. I checked with the bank and they told me they sold out on the "loan" and this is what happens.

The bank rep told me that checking accounts are internal and don't report on Credit history.

If that is the case, I shouldn't bother paying.........

so... I went to the bank... they REVERSED the chanrges... and cleared it up.

The problem is... if you do not OFFICIALLY CLOSE AN ACCOUNT.. they can continue to CHANGE the monthly fees... and they do build up after a while.

Account is closed. It was a while back so there shouldn't be any checks floating around.

She has been getting away with it for so long and nothing gets done.

I went to Cosco to purchase, and I wasn't honored because I was told there was $700 in bad checks. She doesn't get prosecuted. No jail.

If she sat in the pokey overnight one time, I know it would be enough to teach her a lesson. But it doesn't happen.
