Health officials: Illinois man dies from swine flu

Thu May 28, 12:30 pm ET

GENEVA, Ill. – A 42-year-old Illinois man has died from complications of swine flu.

Officials with the Kane County Health Department say the man died Thursday.

Health officials say the victim had other medical problems. They say no further information will be released because of privacy concerns.

The man is the third person to die in the state from the swine flu.

The virus has sickened more than 13,000 people in 48 countries and been linked to more than a 100 deaths worldwide, with the majority of the fatalities in Mexico.

That is not rare or a trick on someones part. The hospitals are not at leave to release personal information about patients.

To do so would legally invalidate the doctor patient confidentiality that is given by custom, not law, there by making it harder for any Doctor to keep your persona and private information secret.

It is feared that people will not seek medical care if there is a danger of embarrassing facts getting out...

SO... They won't release any information not already in the public record.

They are allowed to hide EVERYTHING in regards to children.
And all the whores and politicians will look up and shout "save us!"

And I'll look down and whisper "No."

Quote from the NY article:

"The city has refused to specify the underlying conditions of the latest victims"

Quote from the first Illinois article:
"no further information will be released because of privacy concerns."

Quote from 2nd Illinois article:

"They did not release the patient's age or gender."

Quote from 1st Illinois article:
"the victim in Chicago had other medical conditions, but authorities released no other information about the person"

and this: "people with high risk medical conditions such as asthma, diabetes, lung disease and pregnancy should be particularly cautious." - which is total bull. People with asthma, diabetes, and pregnant women get the flu every year like the rest of us do and they do NOT usually die from it. The only people that normally die from the flu are people who are VERY VERY SICK and/or over 65.

Quote from the Canadian article:

"He was very healthy. That's why we are surprised," a family friend, who gave his name only as Mohan, said yesterday.

Both my sister and brother have Type I diabetes. They've both had the flu several times...never was that much of a bigger deal than if you or I had it.

I don't think it's a trick, per se, I do think there HAS to be something these people have in common and I would like to know what it is.

All these deaths are under 65. A good majority are under 50. This is not average at all.

Also, these articles suggest that people with diabetes or asthma or ___ are so much more vulnerable to the flu. While I agree those conditions can make the flu much more severe, it still doesn't usually cause DEATH.

It's a mystery that is gnawing at me.

I agree.

While I understand why the maelstrom has died down, we must continue to monitor this situation.

I was talking to mky nephew in ILL the other night. He was telling me that his son had come down with the flu and they took him to the family DR. The Dr's office ran perfunctory test to confirm that it was a flu which came back positive. Problem is they didn't know which type and couldn't determine same since the State was not accepting anymore samples for testing. It also appears nobody is monitering the numbers here in the US either. Remember JAWS 1 where the Mayor coversup the presence of the shark so as not to lose vacationers business. I think we got the same here.

What I find interesting about all this is my wife recently got pregnant and had a miscarriage after having intravaginal ultrasound like 4 times in a week and a half (anyone else find that slightly suspicious?). Anyway, so now we are getting baby material in the mail...the ,"expecting a new arrival" bull crap. Walmart baby shower gift registry and crap like that. Tell me the hospital didn't sell our info.

yes indeed.

It is fairly quiet at the airport here today, people wise.. I am sitting waiting on the first leg of my flight to NZ. I hear a number of people coughing behind me and I am not really looking forward to being trapped in an enclosed machine for 13 straight hrs to NZ... Don't know how long the flight to San Fransisco is.. Not really alot you can do, you pay your money and take your chances..

But yes, you need to be very aware. Just because it is not being reported, does not mean it is still not simmering out there...

I will let you all know how the situation in NZ is..

On the issues of "underlying conditions" the only thing that would make a massive difference, in my untrained opinion, is AIDS. Maybe Asthma and Diabetes wouldn't help, but I doubt they would make it that much worse.
