I am white. When I was in Pennsylvania, I had complete strangers walk up to me and ask if I was Polish or Italian.

When I asked my friend why I kept being asked this strange question, she told me there was some animosity between the Polish and Italian communities, and people wanted to know which side I was on.

I found this discussion very interesting. I have lived with white guys and brown guys in college. In fact, i was raised in South Asia(Pakistan) but I am an undergrad at some XXXX university. So basically, I have observation from both sides. Firstly, lets be honest, the reason why brown guys from India like white women is because of attraction. USA is a developed country and the women here are sexually more provoking due to better nutrition and hence, look better. South Asian countries are suffering from malnutrition so therefore, aren't physically 'that' attractive. I could be wrong but this is my observation. Everyone wants someone 'different' and more 'attractive.' The media also depicts what we 'want' and tries to 'create a perfect picture' in our minds. The media also tries to create stereotypes to sell itself. Lets admit it, South Asian and Arab reputation isn't that good in USA. Furthermore, we also know that some stereotypes ARE true because otherwise then stereotypes don't exist. Secondly, their are a lot of insecurities on both sides. For example, language, social, religious and other barriers which need to be broken first.

As far as dating is concerned from a white guys perspective, I have seen many guys get ditched and rejected as well. I have witnessed a lot of that. Their may be several issues which I wouldn't know off but everyone has their own story. Lets put the scenario into our mind.. Imagine a south asian guy approaching a white girl.. anywhere.. he would definitely lack some basic social skills that are in the culture. Language and tact would be a problem as well. Trust me on this one, women, are 'weird' and different. They have weaknesses and you have to find those out. Looks do matter to them initially but it's not that hard to get beyond those social barriers. I agree certain things are messed up in most American girls but hey, it's a different society, if you are attracted to something, you HAVE to compromise. One more thing i have to point out is that south asian men are usually more reliable and loving than most american guys. Don't believe it? check out the divorce rates in both countries. Or maybe it's the ability to compromise... this, however, is a deep discussion but i'll just take the general picture and use my idea of abstraction.

Lastly, you CAN'T blame someone from not being attracted to you. You're defying someones biological instincts... It's like forcing something on someone and we know that the first impression is the physical appearance.. watch how a woman giggles if an 'attractive' man talks to her. Her body language is easily noticeable. However, their are other ways you CAN attract women.. like hobbies, arts, leadership and other skills. Trust me on this one, women are more broad minded than men. Men care a lot about physical appearance but women have a slightly more 'open' mind. They are subtle in their thinking. If not, they are not worth your time.

Conclusively, it is a free world mate. You could either keep trying or just let something happen. I mean, looks don't matter in the end. When you are married to someone, have kids and have a lot of stress from the practical life, sexuality is just one of the minute outlets to cope up with everything negative in life. However, what is needed most is adaptability and the ability to compromise and understand. All in all, it's the mind and heart which matters... looks, just fade away with time. In all honesty, couples really need each other when they are 30-40+ when physical and mental weaknesses will weaken you both as a whole. That is the time you should look to as well.
