Whenever you bring the state into your personal affairs, you make yourself a ward of the state. You can therfore have no property.

This is correct and men are starting to wake up about the fraud of Marriage and horrible contract with the state. To bad it's taking so long for people to realize this.

Of course it is a contract with the state. When you file your taxes you get a deduction for kids and tax breaks for being married.

If the state didn't recognize your marriage then these tax breaks wouldn't be possible. Think about it.

It is also an issue for Gay Marriage. The Church as explained is an agent of the state for the purpose of performing marriages. They may perform a religious ceremony but also the state secular ceremony. That creates a conflict of interest and has put the church in a bind regarding performing gay marriages.

Their only answer may be to hand back the right to perform secular marriages but I am sure this will have issues for their tax exemptions.

Has anyone tried to have a religious only marriage in a church? Is the church even allowed to do that?

The church has a contract with the state. It's called a 501(c)3 non profit. This means these institutions are a government church.

You need a license to prove you love someone.
