I was framing second floor joists 9 feet above the kitchen in a house about 11 years ago. We had joists rolled out and some nailed and blocked. But I stepped on one that was upright but not nailed or blocked. It hurt like a sumbich when I landed on my ass in the kitchen 9 feet below. Once I got my wind gathered back up and started breathing agin I was more embarrassed than hurt. Get better man! Fishing and skiing keeps me a little sane. |

You can get real damage from those kinds of falls. I have a bad porch. Not just a step but the whole planking across the whole porch, and I have plywood covered by astroturf leading from the steps to the door. I decided to let it go this year because there have been burglaries in my neighborhood lately. I don't want to do new work on the house and attract burglars.
