Stanley Kubrick's secrets in 2001 A Space Odyssey are finally revealed
I just listened to Jay Weidner's commentary on 2001 A Space Odyssey by Stanley Kubrick at
[link to www.sacredmysteries.com]

He shows that the film 2001 has a lot more going for it than I ever thought.

Weidner also shows how Kubrick used front screen projection to fake the Apollo Moon landings.

This is simply amazing commentary and you have to listen to it several times before you can really appreciate what Weidner is saying and what Stanley Kubrick was really doing. 2001 is a mystical, alchemical masterpiece.

If you liked 2001 you will love this commentary. if you didn't like 2001 you might after you give this a listen.

This is a must listen!

The Shining has an even deeper meaning ... in fact, at least 3 different perceptions are available from Stanley in that movie via metaphors and analogies......

One is all the characters shine ... meaning the house isn't haunted.

Re: Stanley Kubrick's secrets in 2001 A Space Odyssey are finally revealed
I first saw the movie, 2001, in Hollywood, California
the summer of 1968, when I was visiting my brother who
was finishing post-graduate work at Cal-Tech. I am a
lot younger than my brother, so he had to explain
the "man to superman" theme and symbolism.

Since 1968... mankind has not evolved into superman,
he was devolved back into apes.

What a disappointment the big event of 2001 was 9-11.
If only 9-11 had been a first shot in a war to usher
in superman... but here it is eight years later and
the degeneracy of man continues to go from bad to worse.

It looks like the person who did the you-tube commentary ripped off Weidner's discoveries concerning the monolith. Alchemical Kubrick by Weidner was written in 1999. It appears to be the first mention of this fact.

It's too bad that most of us would have to die to fulfill that vision of the future.

But it's no surprise who was the brains behind the American & USSR's space programme.

Its distressing to read books from over 100 years ago... "Society" has utterly collapsed. Sure they add words to the dictionary, but if they removed words that are not in frequent circulation it would probably sit around 2000.

But who are we to blame, but ourselves. We have become prisoners to our own desire for pleasure/happiness.

In the commentary Weidner proves that the monolith is the same size as the movie screen. The monolith and the movie are the same!

So the monolith is
1 : 4 : 9

But 70mm film is (Cinemascope / Panavision)

2.20:1 or 2.35:1

so going at 4x

4:16:36

x:16:35.2 or x:16:37.6

So it's CLOSE, but not exact.

people reading this post will wonder to
themselves: What are " the classics ?"

And the Germans wouldn't have had a rocket program had
it not been for Goddard and especially Tsiolkovskii before
him.
 Quoting: DrPostman

Well much like rocketry, jet engines, computers & war tactics, the Germans didn't invent them, but they certainly made them 'better' and moved them into the field of where they pretty much are today....

I find it interesting that so many other nations had the people, but they made nothing with it...

I guess it's like Rome with the printing press... they could mint coins by the truckload, but movable type elluded them.

There is not much evidence that Goddard was aware of Tsiolkosvii's work. The later wasn't even widely known in the Soviet Union until his work was rediscovered in the 1950s and the Soviet government held him up as proof the Soviet system was capable of producing leading edge work.

Goddard developed the same basic equations as Tsiolkovskii quite independently.
But your point that both Tsiolkovskii and Goddard formed the basis for later Nazi engineering is well made.

LouisWinthorpeIII - Have we devolved? - society as a whole seems to have, but then again the composition of society is quite different to the society that was once great.

The space program and most of the great scientific discoveries and most of the great musical and artistic genius's were from one particular tribe -- they showed the possibilities of what mankind could be.

But mysterious forces have been hell bent on destroying that tribe, and it started about 100 years ago. That tribe, and all its knowledge and skill has ceased to exist and we are just coasting along on the momentum that they generated.

The whole of the world will be back to sticks and stones barbarity, happily living like animals, never imagining that there was another way.

Well this is what leads us into the fun filled world of eugenics. But you know the drill too many "wrong" people having too many kids.

At the same point with such genetic diversity people are resistant to more and more things... Although everyone seems to perversely have their fingers crossed for some kind of mass die off.

Frankly I blame the same "tribe" that has given us the kindergartens. They have fucked up learning, and created obedient workers. Un questioning slaves.

Prussia may have thought they were creating the ultimate society, but they ultimately have destroyed civilization.
