As the excitement of polling day subsides, UKIP supporters across Britain must now wait until Sunday night to learn how the party has fared in the Euro elections.
While voters went to the polls in the UK yesterday, along with the Netherlands, most of Europe is still to vote in the elections and the results here won't be announced until all polls close.
The full voting timetable is:
Thursday 4 June: Netherlands and UK. Friday 5 June: Czech Republic (continues on 6 June) and Ireland. Saturday 6 June: Cyprus, Italy (continues on 7 June), Slovakia, Latvia and Malta. Sunday 7 June: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden.
Results from the all the local council elections, however, are expected in this afternoon.
