You said, "remove consular and citizenship privileges and protections from those execs (and their families) if they make such decisions."

So you believe that the government has the right to strip Steve Balmer's CITIZENSHIP? The government can also strip his family members CITIZENSHIP too, according to you. Then you go on about how CITIZENSHIP is a PRIVLAGE. So if you were born in AnyTown, USA there is nothing wrong with being stripped of your INALIENABLE RIGHTS?

The problem is the US Corporate Tax Rate is JOKE!!

The US Corporate Tax System couldn't have been designed better to cause companies to WANT TO FLEE the US. In fact if companies were actually fnancially rational they would have LITTLE REASON to remain in the US
(unless they were contracting for the US Government or shipping a bulk commodity like food to thousands of stores everyday)

Let Obama change the tax code ... and then MS ship thousands of jobs OUT of the country. Where ever those jobs end up various other companies that provide add on products or sub contract with MS will ALSO end up, so figure a 3x to 4x multiplier for the other companies' core jobs, and then one can multiply that total by the standard 7x multiples for the total number of jobs lost.

Microsoft sends 6000 jobs overseas? at the end of the day that will cost the US Economy 168,000 jobs (6000 + [6000 x 3] = 24,000 x 7 = 168,000), of which at least 24,000 will be good paying good quality high end jobs.

I don't support any company that sends jobs overseas. Boycott Microshaft. Don't buy their crappy products anymore.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 24473407

tbh, they do fucking suck. So does apple.
and btw, both companies advertised based on complete fraud and perception based precepts.

there is no longer a difference between mac and PC for example. IRL anyone in the know knows pc stands for the 1386-1686 (and now 1*86x64) processor architecture, which led to massive differences in what was possible in the personal computing world, hence it was given the nickname PC architecture. Macs used to use PowerPC processors, which process data a bit differently, but they hit different walls and had different issues with it relating to the power of the system so mac sold out and bought cheap foreign made processor boards like everyone else because they moved over to the same archetecture.

the only difference between these and linux are slight design differences, who makes them, and the rest is all in software, at least outside of MS and Apple's proprietary software (which can, outside of system function, be replaced on linux).

the new Macs are actually FreeBSD based as well, and really are just freebsd with a slightly different kernel and different proprietary librarys/GUI. Making apple even worse because the values are totally just fake like our money - they use CHEAP parts in an expensive case. TBH a macbook pro would be worth the money if it was like $800, like the equivalent pc prepackaged with windows.

linux is by far the best operating system. Runs on almost anything for any purpose imaginable, updates are insanely quick due to the popular Open source licensing to. Shouldve killed microsoft nearly a decade ago, but the only thing stopping it is generally MS ensuring nobody codes anything for it by paying software companies to make things *MS exclusive.

linux is basically immune to viruses (as close as it gets), and is much harder to hack into as long as you dont always log in as root and keep things you want hidden on other, administrator level accounts - if you hacked into its shell you wouldn't be able to view or edit any of those files. the most you could do is destroy unimportant user level files.

hell, even an old version of quake for linux I had came with a SUSE distribution.

the ONLY thing that sucks is the jobs, because windows is highly insecure and sucks. it is NOT more user friendly anymore. a dumbass can install/use Ubuntu linux or fedora at this point - you are almost NEVER presented with commandline unless you want to go there, even during/after installation.

TBH, the personal computer industry needs change. its become a Duopoly between microsoft and apple both advertising false pretenses to get their stuff sold, and both inferior to other available technologies. the people who just buy a computer get MS, and the people who think they are special and believe they are badass with computers (but dont know any programming code, or even HTML/CSS) buy apple because its cliquish and cool. most of them dont even have a good reason to be buying it.

some say "I just like apple" which is total sheep bullcrap because they just bought into the commercial.

Id understand if they said - I program a utility mostly used by apple users - so I use a mac to test these programs on.

or even - I really like this proprietary sound/graphics program and I dont want to move on to using an alternative on another program.

but nobody ever says these things. In fact they get pissed MS word costs a bunch for it, and they get pissed they dont know how to convert files to MS compatible versions for use in school/college. They just bought it for the image. which is retarded because mac is YEARS behind in power at this point - youd be better off making a hackintosh out of a cheap acer, youd get 3x the power for half the cost, same OS and compatibility.

if you just bought a barebones pc and got a free ubuntu disk in the mail. you could have all the functionality you need, almost all the software you need FOR FREE (and can save as MS word and PPT files), you could literally do anything with it, and for like $500-$800, you can probably get a huge hard drive, 12GB+ ram, a nice graphics card/sound card, and your OS.

I dont have a problem charging for Operating systems, not at all. But I do have a problem when you create a world where there are two groups and anyone outside those groups cant compete to have their will done. I dont support people who encourage ignorance about their products to encourage sales. I dont like people who rely on stupid trend to sell their products.

I think that, for software developers, it would be the greatest thing ever if both Microsoft and Apple failed.

although the jobs would hurt. its whats been destined to happen to PCs since the 90s when linux REALLY took off anyway.

if things made a mass transition to linux, youd see MASSIVE improvements and wildly different distros available, because commercial software developers would make their changes and release them as well.

and also there would be more seats open for programming jobs too - no more buying shitty licenses - instead just cross compile, test, and sell your programs to everyone, transcendent of what operating system people run - because truth be told ALL processors sold to us have barely ANY differences in machine code whatsoever. its why WINE works so well for lots of things - theres barely a difference, and the programs would almost run naturally if it werent for a few bites of different, and proprietary libraries (.DLLS on windows, these are contained as source code in unix based machines and compiled WITH the program, and its faster and smaller that way)

hell thats also why OS/X runs linux programs too - they are totally compatible. in fact ANYTHING forked from BSD and BSD itself can run almost any other unix program, because there is such a small difference its really laughable.

It would also be massively cheaper to have a software business, especially a games business - because there would be no paying licensing for any usage of anything. Youd make your product, and pay only labor, packaging, shipping and marketing. All the libraries would be free, at least those based with the system.

if you wanted to buy engines like unreal, you still could pay for them because paying for them would be paying for the labor of writing the code.

you'd also make more because you'd be selling your product to everyone instead of a small minority of people - granted you wouldnt get that fat check from microshaft for not selling your games on linux to ensure the game market is monopolized, but it would equalize out because all consumers would have equal opportunity to buy your product.

and the end user makes out because they dont have to lie on all the software agreements. because seriously, I dont like them, and I dont think many other people do either.

oh and btw, about disloyalty, both Microsoft and Nintendo have switched to powerpc for gaming consoles - only sony uses the intel archetecture for that.

by their own logic, XBOX and Wii-U arent personal computers, but PS3 is?

you COULD install windows on any of them if it were legal and people compiled compatible versions (it was with PS3 until they changed their minds). or linux. or OS/x.

processor archetecture has nothing to do with personal computer. so their advertising campaigns are lies preying on morons to make bad decisions.

Expect to see more and more companies leaving the USA. Our corporate tax rates are the highest in the developed world
[link to en.wikipedia.org]

Then you add social security, workmen's comp, unemployment insurance, obamacrud, then heap all the regulations on top.

What you get is a dying economy.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 26085824

You may have quite a high corporation tax but your income tax is quite low.

Would you rather have money in the hands of the people or in the hands of corporations?

Increasing peoples disposable income allows them to perhaps start a bussiness, live healthier, have a positive view on how the economy is doing. Of course there are drawbacks and that not everyone spends their money wisely but I like to assume the majority do.

for a government their are two main systems.

1. you tax the bussinesses to subsidise the public (voters)
2. you tax the public and subsidize businesses.

both have arguments for and against but for my personal opinion I prefer option 1.

option 2 relies on the businesses you are subsidizing to pass the discounts over, or create extra jobs, to the public.somthing we know doesn't always happen.

Option 1 relies on the person being responsible for their own purchasing.

lets create an example: I'm the president. I ask myself why are we subsidizing medical insurance companies in order for them to provide a cheaper adffordable policies for others not so well off when I can give it directly to the people and let them choose.

2 problems I can clearly see are;

The public don't always spend their money wisely.

Medical insurance companies might catch onto this and excessivly rise their prices to recoup any loss.

on the switch side here are two problems with subsidizing companies;

company directors don't always spend the governments money correctly.
the company subsidized could become a monopolyand creates unfair advantages to any existing competition.

Now after all this which one of these methods are most likely to win votes.

These leftists think this is like the 18th century still where people are stuck from moving. They don't realize companies can move an entire company, even manufacturing companies with huge machines, in two weeks with all the machines. They will even make their valued employees move with them.

I had an argument with a city once over this a few years back when they were causing shit by increasing fees and making it increasingly difficult to operate in the city business wise. Suffice to say, they don't have any manufacturing or warehouse companies anymore in the city, so the city is now full of empty warehouses, but full of skill-less Mexican workers on unemployment or welfare.

It would take many years and many billions.

It's not just the tax system, it's the entire system combined. They will fuck you in taxes, they will fuck with permits, they will fuck you with fees. It makes it completely infeasible to operate in the US lately in many states and cities. In the long run, companies that stay in the US take it out on the customer and the employee, so you end up with lower wages and higher costs of products.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1179421

and i AGREE with this.

there should be ways you can be stripped of rights.

however first we need to invert the power pyramid - if you own no business and are not part of gov't - you CANT have your rights taken.

but as you become a larger business - especially at a national and global level, you should lose rights, and when you work for the gov't you should almost totally lose your freedom by signing as a state SERVANT. the president and congress included are here to SERVE US, not vice versa, and such a discrepancy should be punishable by death and unusual torture, as cruel as possible, for even challenging that idea.

we should be able to make outsourcing illegal because its in the best interest of our country, we should be able to strip business owners of their business in the states for committing HIGH TREASON, as well as their citizenship. they should be free to take a percentage of their personal money and start a business elsewhere. but their business should stay in the fucking states and be auctioned off to a new, id carrying, US citizen.

at this point with labor costs its inevitable that ALL jobs will go overseas, except the most servile, crap positions so you can serve the wealthy business owners at restaurants and shops while they still live here.

they are going to continue consolidating the wealth and getting it out of here. they are all bitching about these taxes, but you know who really gets hurt out of it? small businesses who will be struggling to keep the doors open now that they have to pay disproportionate tax.

Microsoft makes enough where they could accept some losses and just deal with a smaller profit margin - all employees get paid and owners are still rich as fuck. OH NOES!!!! I HAVE TO HAVE ONE LESS VOICE ACTIVATED COMPUTER CONTROLLED ROOM IN MY HOUSE!!! OH NOES!!!! FUCK DE EBIL GUBBERMINT FR TAKIN MAH MONAIES

its people like us who are damned really, they're just going to use the policy as an excuse to outsource more right now, blaming it on the government and not them. it was ALWAYS the plan, and its probably why obama got reelected in the first place.

they probably put LOTS of money on him to do this, so that way he would and they could be like OH NO THE TAXES!!! when really its not even the taxes that matter - its the fact that they can hire a programmer for $10,000 a year overseas and they will be happy, when that GOOD job is worth $80000-$150,000 a year here.

so of fucking course theyd looooove moving to india. they've wanted it for ages now.

they are taking advantage of the worlds disparity in wealth. there is no way to in america because they contain to much of the wealth here, and are busily controlling inflation. it allows a few people to buy out everything in all nations and control everything.

so yes, we have to make these things illegal. we have to force out anyone who doesnt like it, take their citizenship and auction off their business and all stock. if they disagree military force should be used to wipe them out.

if any nation threatens nuclear war we will have to stand up to them and do it. because it would fuck the world economy. it would grind the gears of all TPTB and basically stop their plan in its tracks so that would be the last stop for them.

unfortunately not everyone will end up happy. we're on the way for some changes, and it can either be you and I who make them, or we can sit back and let them do it for us. but lemme tell you, your not gonna like it when they do it for you.

feeling entitlement because of good jobs will be a thing of the past. look at africa where doctors and lawyers now sell their body and have aids because there is no other work while their children sell/are addicted to the cheap herion they help traffic.

thats going to be america. where we search for dead bodies on the beaches hoping for our first meal in days.

its not about communism vs capitalism. thats just public vs private ownership. we can KEEP PRIVATE OWNERSHIP!!!!

all we need to do is say - you own a business IN THE US, it is operated IN THE US by US CITIZENS, so it is a US BUSINESS. otherwise it simply isnt.

realize their taxes go to new countries who hate us when they outsource as well, so walmart is helping out china loads right now.

also it WOULD work to levy high tariffs on these things, but nobody is going to let that happen either. they would lobby and lobby and spend all that money they didnt want to spend on taxes to stop it.

the big issue is they dont want to stop sitting on large portions of the wealth because of the fractional reserve system. they want to be able to not pay that money back into the economy. they want to sit on it and force them to print more an more until their the only ones who have enough for bread.

thats the truth and you need to wake up. if they make a dime more than they invest that sets forth a chain reaction over many generations that ends up will all the wealth in few hands. all you need is to start out ahead and you win. period.

rothschild for example, and his 300 trillion dollars - you just keep investing 10gs here, 10 gs there, WOW i just made 40 gs out of 20! too bad its a bad year this year.

see what im saying! if they NEVER put at least HALF of their wealth back into the economy, that money doesnt circulate any longer, and every dollar you get paid ends up coming from the IOUs printed and given to the fed.

the money they had was loaned out years ago, and SHOULD still be sustaining the country. but its not. they keep it, hold on to it. Lobby with some of it, and dont spend the rest. its cheaper to use business accounts to illegally buy things anyway, which there is tons of proof these guys do that.

lobbying is powerful because of this too - it helps the debt go down!!!! if wealthy interest groups donate large portions of this loaned out wealth and congressmen use it to buy things and invest IT GOES BACK INTO THE ECONOMY and gets OUT OF PRIVATE BANKERS WALLETS.

this is the problem right fucking here. there is absolutely NO NEED to possess beyond a certain amount of money.

at a certain point all it does is drive prices up for every dollar you make, and thats how you start sabotaging and destroying an economy, how you start controlling inflation directly, and how you take control of legislature with your money.

its why even honest men fail to succeed in politics.

let me tell you, theres tons of hungry people in this nation. not only hungry for food and thirsty for water, but hungry for opportunity and thirsting for knowledge and skill.

they have skills beyond the highest master craftsmen ever known to the world. they have ideas so revolutionary the whole world could be changed in an instant.

if you take out these people who try to control everything now, this will give them a chance to do something, and fulfill those dreams rather than telling them the market is already carved up and there is no place for them.

those people arent all evil.

in fact, some of them are you! you who own businesses, you who have dreams, you who have families you care about, friends, who have loyalties that lie outside of money alone.

because for someone like you- the real citizen, having the world as your oyster does not matter. having all the money in the world and controlling everyones hiring policy and who gets into office doesnt matter.

no, because you have friends here. family. people who wont always be working for you and you know that. you care about the collective group rather than just being able to get your start in america, start ww3 then run off to your new home in china.

its you, who are stuck here, have been betrayed, that should be able to stand against evil rather than siding with it.

For once, I agree with Obama (to the extent I understand the tax). If they are getting profits from other countries then they should be taxed -- or the big conglomerate companies could set up country subsidiaries like franchises and let the money stay in the countries that made the product or provided the service -- it is called having a global presence without raping the global residents. Most of the U.S. companies hate the U.S. and the U.S. people -- let them leave, they are doing it anyway with the help of the stupid Americans who continue to buy their junk made from foreign labor.

Re: Microsoft CEO to Obama: Drop Tax Break Cuts or We'll Send Jobs Overseas
If O turns the screws on US corporations again, they'll just leave. The trend is strong and growing.

The USA is no place to run a business. Now it's turning openly 3rd-world hostile while the rest of the world becomes friendlier, led by Asia. I worked in Silicon Valley when the giants were shifting all their new facilities abroad. It wasn't so much labor costs as the million other costs of doing business here, crappy infrastructure, huge delays in the zillions of required permits, and increasing taxes and regulations running against the trend in the rest of the world.

Microsoft built facilities in India over 15 years ago, and has their second-largest manufacturing site there. If O pushes them out, it won't require anything other than shifting their weight from one foot to another.

They won't care about losing US business cause O has guaranteed nobody will be investing (businesses) here anyway, because there is no hope of profits. Folks can't afford to upgrade, either.

USA businesses spend $1.7 trillion a year just to comply with Federal regulations, every year. That's 3X more than they pay in income taxes! With the Obama regulation blitzkreig now, everyone will get out who can.

Time for a real life economics lesson.

deliberate, contrived and dishonest, but the myth, persistent,
persuasive, and unrealistic. Belief in myths allows the
comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought."

Looks like the Microsoft Mafia is trying to strong arm Obama.

The profits he wants to tax now are earned in OTHER COUNTRIES. He says these are also American profits. lol! What a douchbag. Never created a business in his life and jealous of others who do it. Demon from another dimension. goaway

That is normal. If you a tax paying citizen leave the US tomorrow..you are still have to pay tax to the USA for 10 yrs..No different for a company..they should not get out of paying taxes if we the people dont.
