This is beyond stupid. Not only would you have to silence the marines, you would have to silence their families, which would put the number at over 3 million people in on a conspiracy of the sort. Does anyone have any kind of evidence that isn't speculation or opinion?
Are you certain that it is marines? The Marine Corps has around 201,000 active Marines at any given time, and between 30 and 50 thousand Marine reserves.
It would be hard to hide an extra million of them "off the books".
While I did hear some odd things while I was in, nothing was ever said about everyone suddenly disappearing...
