2 Swine flu H1N1 deaths in 3 days-Alameda County,SF Bay Area
There have been 2 deaths from the H1N1 swine flu here in Alameda County where I live- in 3 days. And alot of people that I know have been getting sick. I think alot of people are getting sick and it's not even being reported as swine flu. For 2 weeks I was pretty sick, flu like symptoms but I don't have medical so I didn't go to the doctor. My sons, ages 22 and 23 were sick, the 23 year old had a fever, sore throat, body aches, he was really ill. Lots of people complaining about not feeling well. Weird in June FOR SURE.

Health officials Thursday reported Alameda County's second death related to swine flu in three days.

County public health officials released few details about the H1N1-linked death. They said the patient, a middle-aged man with chronic health problems, died Wednesday.

On Tuesday, county health officials announced the death of another middle-aged man who had tested positive for the H1N1 virus and also had chronic health problems.

Also Thursday, the World Health Organization raised the H1N1 outbreak from a Phase 5 to a Phase 6 pandemic — indicating the virus is spreading easily person-to-person across the world. As of Thursday, 74 countries have reported 28,774 cases of H1N1 infection and 144 deaths, according to the WHO.

In Alameda County, there are 49 confirmed and 10 probable cases of the virus.
