Re: Debunker Talk LIVE Chat 24/7 - A debunker's paradise!!
From the ning site:

"Thought I would start a thread on a subject that many are curious and terrified about. Hearing disembodied voices in or outside of your head. Many are concerned when they hear the "voices", thinking they're schizophrenic, or just outright insane, though this is hardly the case. I started hearing voices when I was fifteen, though being surrounded by contactees, showed me that I did not need to concern myself. But not everyone is this fortunate.

So, do you hear your name? Do you hear conversations? Do you receive imagery with your voices? Do you feel that you're eavesdropping into conversations? Do you hear people talking about things that you know nothing about, such as scientific information?"

Hey, was this one of you guys who did this?

Part of me hopes so, because the other option is a bit sad.

The best advice we can give on this matter is to read with your heart as well as your mind. Follow the flow, let the nuances lie unanswered and unchallenged in your mind. Treat this as a garden you are walking through for the first time, and experience it fully without trying to categorize it! Much of what you will learn will be processed in your subconscious, and influence your conscious mind later. If you must dissect each phrase, and correlate it with each piece of information taken from another source, you will trash much of what you could otherwise gain. Live in the gray, not always insisting on black and white and strict compartmentalizations.

What you say is true enough, George, but let me say this as constructive advice, NOT as a criticism toward you.

It seems sometimes your questions are rooted is a deep, profound ignorance of basic science, a deep lack of knowledge of scientific method, and a bias that if you see it on the web, it must be true, or at least contain some truth.

Serious suggestion: Go to your nearest bookmonger or good library and bone up on basic, high school level science, and the tools scientists use to figure out how things work.

I suspect that will show you that a whole helluva lot of what you read on the net is pure, unadulterated bullshit and you should pay it no attention.

At the very least you should have some fun summer reading.

Astornut,

I would like your opinion regarding the coordinates we discussed yesterday. An individual claims that they used an IR capable camera and recorded an object at the coordinates RA: 6h 42m 8.44s, Dec: 41 40' 18.94" on 20 March 2010 from a location in southern Michigan. He later recorded an identical or similar object at 6h 41m 55.77s, 41 35'; 41 35' 19.45" on 9 April 2010. After consulting 'Your Sky' at [link to www.fourmilab.ch] (see graph above) it seems this object is found fairly close to the orbit of Mars. With your knowledge of camera capable telescopes which have the ability to record coordinates . . . is it possible:
1. The object may well be Mars because of the close proximity . . .
2. Some other star the individual is confusing the object with . . .
3. Individual has no clue of what he is doing . . .
4. He has possibly found something unique . . . .
Thanks for your time!

1. Just what lack of basic scientific method did I not demonstrate by this question?

2. If these were valid observations and correct coordinates it was potentially an interesting find.

I totally agree . . . I am becoming a much better researcher with every effort on the web. I have only been doing this for about a year. I was too busy with my career and family issues before now. Finding source documents and research is not always easy, but it is becoming easy with practice. So much on the web is just the repeating of something someone else said without any sources identified. When you find the original source you often find a misrepresentation or misquote, etc.

Nice Lens' Flare . . . at 1.49 - 1.51 Minutes

Lens flare is created when non-image forming light enters the lens and subsequently hits the camera's film or digital sensor.  This often appears as a characteristic polygonal shape, with sides which depend on the shape of the lens diaphragm.  It can lower the overall contrast of a photograph significantly and is often an undesired artifact, however some types of flare may actually enhance the artistic meaning of a photo.  Understanding lens flare can help you use it--or avoid it--in a way which best suits how you wish to portray the final image.

Here is another good example of Lens' Flare . . . if you play these frame by frame you will see on both days the flare appears in the same identical way. It is not there one frame and then the next frame it appears. At 14 and again at 27 seconds.

What about this one. It's from someones backyard balloon experiment.

It clearly shows Planet X

But joe public still can't see it from Earth!

ooh, I guess it's being cloaked by the sun in an apparent tidal blowaround and the moons and tail are not currently visible because of the straight arc moonside lurker just beyond the ecliptic trajectory.

Just had to give myself a fix to appease the double talk withdrawal.

I'm surprised the woo-woos haven't been going nuts over the sun's activity...or, more specifically, lack thereof. Sunspot numbers should have been climbing towards an eventual peak sometime in 2013. But sunspot activity has been dismal at best, which kind of sucks because HF propagation has suffered...although 10 meters has been open almost daily, but that may be more likely due to sporadic E. Scientists don't know why the sun is been quiet...but it has happened before. I'm not when it happened, but the sun went through a 70 year period with few to no sunspots now called the Mauder Minimum. I wonder if we're going to experience another one. If so, it will be interesting to see what impact it has on Earth's climate. Many have suggested that global warming is linked to solar activity and some have suggested that our climate will begin to cool off the longer the sun goes without increased sunspot activity.
A voice of reason in a world of woo-woos.
