I see we're almost to page 996. We have four days to get to 1000. Remember, Max said we wouldn't make 1000 before the end of the year. Let's see if he fails...again!
 Quoting: Circuit Breaker

Thats another reason why too, we cant let melfy spoil his `perfect record' of 100% failure and actually get something right- the shock alone of actually succeeding for the first time might give him such a shock he could have a heart attack and possibly die, and I wouldn't want that to happen, not even to melfy

So to ensure his continued health, we have to beat 1000 before 2012...

Well, you could always turn the conversation to something appropriate...

Like, list your favorite Nancy claims/failures of the last few years. Repost her best blunders.

I'll start: the radio interview with the first infamous dog comment.

The Sci-Astro debates and defeats. Her IRC crash and burn.

May, 2003, and her own comments about throwing stuff at her.

Her total inability to explain why Capricorn is still visible in the sky.

Her continued absurd claims about Earth being halted, or other unusual movements of the sky -- and her inability to explain how boring devices could still find them flawlessly.

Her finally admitting she had no idea what RA and Dec actually are.

Grant.

Elle.

Others can take it from here...

Four month long trimesters and flying magnetrons. Her of planet x causing a traffic jam in the inner solar system, forcing planets to swerve to get past is comedy gold. Other personal favorites are the penis plug debacle, earthworm banana bread. And who can forget the "lean to the left". Shit there are so many!

One of my favourites was the `non rotating moon'
Despite dozens of people describing how it worked, diagrams and even a movie, she still was rock solid in her belief in that it didn't rotate.

And more recently in the big floods we had in Brisbane, her claims that the floods were caused by the plate tilting and making the rivers run backwards

As I was actually surrounded by one of said rivers at the time, I can definately say at no time I was watching did it flow backwards (and the 3 months of almost nonstop continous rain might have had something to with the floods IMHO)

She really doesn't hae a clue does she?

I watched the one about Oz and Indonesia

Funny how if the plate had tilted, I would expect the water level at the boat ramp I use on a regular basis to have changed, but sadly it appears to be pretty much the same depending on the time of month as it always has

And the airport in Indonesia @ Jacata (sp?) which was supposed to be underwater definately isnt, as my flatmate was there a couple of months ago for work, I didn't see any floats attached to the jet he took off in.....

Poor nancy- so many predictions, so many failures
And the only way she has to stop people correcting her mistakes is to run away and hide at the ning, even with mod powers here, that wasn't enough control for her

I love the way she states that places that have coast on the ocean and that are under 80 meters flooded. I didn't know there was such a thing as coast not on the ocean. Then in true Nancy logic, she concludes that if the flooding was due to rain, then why isn't there flooding inland. I suspect it's because there are mountains there and the rainwater from inland all flows down to the coasts. Pretty funny shit from May 2010. Still no 7 of 10. Nancy still consistently wrong. 2012 is too far out. ROFLMAO

fresh in from the blog (35 mins ago)

`5 meters high? That's 15 feet! That's not a wave, that's a tsunami!' from nancy

um

As a kid I regularly surfed bigger waves than that,(lived near one of Oz's world famous surf beaches)

Is nancy under the impression that a tsunami's only characteristic is its height? (maybe she saw one too many moovies with a 500ft high `tidal wave' in it??)

Wonder what she would classify the 30-60ft waves @ Oahu's North Shore as???

As usual, Nancy is coming up with her own definition. Her considerable lack of scientific knowledge is telling as she has more than once proven herself lacking a basic understanding of science (i.e., typically those subjects taught in primary and secondary schools in the United States).

How many subjects has she proven herself to be ignorant of? If I listed them all, I'd probably push the thread page count much closer to 1,000.

Death of Troubled Times, Inc?

Took at look at the Troubled Times pages, it would appear that the non-profit is close to death.

This is from the last December 2010 minutes posted on the site:

"Agenda Item 5. Funds and Possible Dissolution - Discussion and Approval

- Roger notes that money is tight. PayPal is $300 or so. Nancy cites the checking account at $576.93. Contemplating large purchases is unrealistic.
- Nancy points out that the nonprofit costs $487/year to operate and there is less than $900 left all told. Donations are not happening, and without them the nonprofit will likely be bankrupt by the end of 2011. "

Re: Debunker Talk LIVE Chat 24/7 - A debunker's paradise!!
- Nancy proposed that the board allow her to displose of the antique clothes washer (now in pieces though $245 a decade ago) to a museum.
- Nancy proposed that the board allow her to displose of the tiller (depreciated to $166) and chipper (depreciated to $117) in trade for labor to clear out the seed cooler blocking the garage door. The seed cooler was purchased for $100 a decade ago, not used in almost a decade, and take 4 men to move.
- The board opted to require an attempted sale via Craig's List or a similar move locally if not successful via Craig's List, for $150 for the tiller and $100 for the chipper. Prior to completion of the votecall, Nancy snagged a local buyer, her lawncutter and someone who also deals in metal recycling. His deal was $150 for the tiller and $50 for the chipper and he would take the cooler away no charge.
- Nancy will provide electronic documentation that $200 went into the nonprofit at the next board meeting. [Note, $200 deposit for Nonprofit Checking]
- Nancy proposed that the hydroponics and aquaponics equipment be gifted to the University of Wisconsin, and made attempt to contact the Deans office locally re this. An assistant Dean accepted, and Nancy forwarded photos showing the equipment in use in her basement. He stated that a biologist would come by in a pickup truck, when the time came. He subsequently stated that approval must be sought from the Dean, who will also determine a site for the equipment. The rusting cow watering tanks, used as a fish pond (approximately $100 purchase when new), will be taken away for metal recycling, not sold, as they must be dragged from the basement and it is labor intensive to drag them out again.
- Nancy will provide electronic documentation that this equipment was properly gifted to the University. Forms must be filled out, etc, for IRS purposes.

Since the debunkers have effectively destroyed her credibility, her "example" is not longer "credible". Therefore, it makes sense to dispense with materials that no longer serve any real purpose.

after reading the full minutes, I would have to say that either they are extremely unwise consumers (OK that IS a possibility) or the TT group is home to some people who may be `stretching the truth' as regards to their costs....

they are retiring the old unix servers as they `only' have 512Mb and according to nancy they need 7 Gb as a minimum..

WTFH???

total bullshitte

even an old xp system is usable with 512Mb (how do I know- this is an old server I use as my home server- and its running xp pro on 512mb- slowly yes, but running it
on any unix/linux breed of o/s- it would (and does) absolutely fly)

the cd burning costs are quoted as 1.19 each burnt or twice that twin format

pure garbage...

even on this old server- (can burn 4 cd's at once) for the volumes they are asking. I can buy 100 cd's for 34 bucks from the local postoffice (NOT the cheapest supplier) so that works out @34c each to do a run of 500 would take just over 2 hrs
that works out @ a nice $1008 an hr if I was rodger.....

hey nancy, I'll undercut rodger by 200 bucks...

And SOME people say they arent in it for the money....
(that pays the rent for the next 2 months LOL)

Yep. Everything from a volcanic eruption to a zit on a teenagers chin is proof of planet x.

Notice how Nancy never talks about Obama anymore? He was supposed to be the starchild president that would announce the presence of aliens to the world, he was supposed to pull the world out of chaos and unify us all in peace. That's not working out for Nancy, so I guess she doesn't want to think about all the things she said before he was elected. Another fail for Nancy, but that's what she does best.

the quote from the ning that didnt post at the beginning of my last post for some reason...

SOZT
It matters not whether physics has a term for a cloud formation, or whether this occurs in nature in other fluid mediums. The question is, why NOW? As with other phenomena appearing during only the last few years – Moon halos, Sun halos, neon clouds, red dust sprinkled on the snow, monstrously large spider webs, flocks of birds dropping from the skies, unexplained rogue waves, or signing reservoirs – why NOW and not before?
 Quoting: aussie 763624 763624

Moon and sun halos? What's so unusual about that? I've seen them most of my life. They're simply caused by very high, and very thin cirrus clouds composed of ice crystals that refract the light from the sun or the moon and cause the rainbow/halo effect. It's really quite simple. Neon clouds? I have no idea what the f&*k she's talking about there. Red dust sprinkled on snow? I feel cheated. In the three years I've lived in Colorado I have yet to EVER see red dust on snow. Monstrously large spider webs? How large is she talking about? The size of a house? Bird die offs? That's happened before. Rogue waves? Happened before, too. Signing reservoirs? WTF is she talking about there?
