Face it, Max is just a troll. A few days ago he was heartbroken because Chicago won't have the Olympics in 2016. Max has either exposed his true belief that 2012 will come and go with no PX and no pole shift, or he is stupider than I thought and he believes that after such an earth shattering event, the handful of survivors worldwide would still gather to celebrate the Olympics. One never knows with Max. He just can't help himself because he NEEEEEDS the attention.

Not at all! The economic benefits of hosting the Olympics in 2016 would have begun IMMEDIATELY. "Anything" that would have helped boost the local economy in the short run would have been MOST WELCOME. I understand that in the end, it would almost certainly cost "more" than it delivers, but the bill would come later - and by then the bill could be "ignored" in the "aftertime". But a boost NOW means more immediate job security, and possibly just a little more money for preparation.
