Very chilly start to the morning. -13 degrees with windchill down to -25. I didn't even think about doing my morning run in it. Because of the snow and icy roads, I took the wife to and from work Monday and Tuesday so her car was buried in 4 inches of snow by this morning. She felt she could drive today because the roads were mostly clear. So, I went out and got her car ready. Brushing the snow off was no big deal. Neither was shoveling away the pile of snow behind her car left by the plow. But it was cold. I wore a pair of sweats and jeans, a thermal shirt, flannel pullover, jacket, knit stocking cap and two pairs of gloves....and my hands were still sore from the cold when I got done. To my surprise though, the car started...although reluctantly. I also discovered yesterday that the hot water pipe to the kitchen sink is frozen. The sink is against the back outside wall. Cold works...and we get hot out of all the other sinks. It was working yesterday afternoon when the sun came out and warmed up the back side of this place, but it wasn't working again this morning. Even though we're only supposed to get up to 15 today, the sun is out so it will probably start working again by this afternoon.
