noone can "mold" a person to his/societys/partys liking. that's a wishful thinking on elite's part, and probably on yours too.

[in fact i was born and raised in Western Ukraine - that is fervently anti-communist, anti-Russian country, with its close-minded people - much the same as, say, Missouri, or your South, in general, a redneck country.
