I certainly don't like the trends I'm seeing. Honeybees are dying off in large numbers, threatening 1/3 of the world's food supply. Polar Bears are becoming endangered due to loss of habitat. Oxygen levels are declining as deforestation increases. There's a large "island" of garbage floating out in the Pacific and mounds of it recently discovered at the bottom. Fish used to be considered a very healthy food source but over-fishing has dwindled the numbers being caught and the fish that is caught is contaminated with mercury and other heavy metals.

Long ago, there was a balance in nature...a balance the Native Americans and other peoples understood. As humans evolved and progressed technologically, this balance has been lost. We humans continue to consume as if everything on this planet is unlimited. And we basically crap all over the place. What are we giving back?

Another interesting item - as we've progressed technologically, I think we've "de-evolved" as a society.

Again we can agree that such things as the honeybee die-off and ocean pollution are very real, very disturbing developments. Some have speculated that we're killing the bees with all our wireless radiation (cell phones, routers, DirecTV, etc.) Could be something to it.

Still, the fundamental difference exists in forming an opinion about whether ALL these problems are man-made, or whether some more "natural" cycle is contributing.
