You are forgetting stealth . . . and terrain following technology . . . unless there were AWACS in the air it could have gotten through.
I'm talking about visuals. People see cruise missiles.
They aren't traveling all that fast. CNN in Baghdad filmed
a few incoming in 2003. The few that do travel at supersonic
speed are very large and definitely noticeable when launched.
