Hi guys:

Has anybody here seen the Lacrosse 5 satellite with the naked eye? I'm trying to figure out what I saw this morning. That seems to match up fairly closely in time and direction based on heavens-above.com.

It just seemed to be moving a lot faster than the ISS and appeared to flash a couple of times.

Could it have been one of the Iridiums? They are known to produce a nice flash when the sun catches them right.

Wouldn't an Iridium flare be more or less stationary?

For what it's worth, here's an example of a different kind of satellite that also experiences flares or flashes:

One of the tenents of the Church of the Subgenius is that the superadvanced aliens called 'Xists' will arrive on July 4th, 1998 at 7:00 AM.

So yeah, I can see a Planet X/Xists correlation.

For what it's worth, here's an example of a different kind of satellite that also experiences flares or flashes:


I have seen a lot of these, especially when it was just after sunset. I always thought it's the solar panel reflecting ... depending on how the position of the sun, satellite and your watching position is. The flare is when the panels have a good reflection position. Well, thats what I thought, dunno, might be bull.

According to "Bob," in regards to the arrival of the Xist motherships on July 8, 1998, anytime in 2010 is "not too far out."

At 1:36 the X-37B momentarily flares up by quite a bit.
