Visited the thread on the ning regarding sane family members that don't believe in Zetas and poleshift. It's really sad. One lady says it's hard for them because they are thinking about the pole shift all the time. How sad is that? Wasting your good days and sacrificing relationships over an internet hoax that will never play out? They await the 7 out of 10 with anticipation, thus wishing for the death and destruction of cities and towns full of people of all ages. How sick is that? Some there are encouraging ningtards to leave their spouses so as to not be weighed down by them. There are no words for that. The attitude over there is self righteousness. They even take a shot at Reiki healers saying they are nice people but all they do is pray instead of doing something real by acting. As opposed to what ningcompoops do? Should Reiki healers stop healing people and start posting idiocies on a little blog site on the internet, insult non believers and edify the leader of the cult? (Not that I'm necessarily defending Reiki healers, but it is a good example of their holier than thou crusade and their devotion to their imaginary mission).

Agreed, I see family after family after family being torn apart over a hoax on that thread. That is really sad, and to think it could have been avoided if they had had a better education in astronomy growing up. I know for myself that I was largely self-taught; astronomy just wasn't covered in my primary and secondary education.

Sometimes I really get the feeling that this Melfy character is just simply messing with us debunkers. I know; I know. He is doing that exactly. I just felt the need to reinforce that reality to myself again.

I know I've labelled Melfy with all sorts of names over the years. But geez when one gets down to the nitty gritty of it all it is obvious that Melfy prides himself on being intellectually dishonest over this whole zetatalk crap. If it ain't actually roleplaying, on Melfster's part, then sheez the person behind the character is definitely deluded...as in "real life" deluded.

When a poster here has shown to be intellectually dishonest, as Melfy has consistently done on this thread, then they clearly have NO credibility whatsoever.

Maybe it's time to dig up some historical quotes from the Melfster just to prove the point of what I am saying....and any attempt, by the likes of Melfy, to push the zetaculties out to the year 2015 and beyond will not be tolerated.

Somehow I just know that there would be a certain number of deluded folk over there at the ning that have such selective memories that they will quickly forgive and forget each and every failed pole shift prediction date.

I guess that doomsday cults can have that sort of affect on the real "weak" minded folk amongst the planet's population.

Even if that moment ever happened, they'd probably still have a smile on their face, as destruction rained down on them, saying, "Ha! Take that debunkers! We told you so!"

A better education might have helped but the big problem is the fact they're gullible. Max seems educated and yet he still supports ZetaTalk.

Even if the question were left in place, I doubt you'd get an honest answer.

The question is whether they were educated before or after becoming indoctrinated into the cult or one of its forerunners. If they learn about astronomy through a lens of the cult they'll simply ignore the more "inconvenient" facts. I suppose it's a chicken and egg situation; are they gullible because they weren't initially well educated about astronomy, or does gullibility itself predispose the acceptance of crazy conspiracy theories, causing the person to ignore and remain ignorant of accepted science?

PS: Maybe one day a roleplaying game entitled "Surviving the Poleshift" may be created for the market....at least the zetaculties would love it. They could then fantasize by roleplaying their doomsday "wet dreams" all day long!!

Given the apparent technical sophistication of the average ZTer, they'd have to release the game for PCs still running Windows ME or DOS...

If you try hard enough I'm sure you can debase your self even lower than slandering the dead.

I see the anticipation of the grand "I told you so" but I'm wondering if they really, really believe . . .

If I had knowledge of this happening, first I'd decide if I wanted to live through it or just die right off. Then, if I really wanted to live and really believed it, I would be cashing in my retirement accounts and selling off everything. If I couldn't afford it alone, I would be pooling my funds with other believers to get a farm with a high tech, reinforced, underground bunker. I haven't heard of anyone doing that.
