Circuit Breaker User ID: 1090932 United States 11/01/2010 07:43 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Reading everything Andrew has written, I get the impression that he thinks humans come up with the laws of physics and expect everything to abide by them. He obviously isn't able to grasp the fact that these laws have been in place since before humans existed...we simply wrote them down. Our understanding of orbital mechanics, for instance, comes from observation of every planet in the solar system and even some extra solar planets. Our observations and understanding of orbital mechanics is what keeps satellites in orbit. For instance, the closer a satellite is to the Earth, the faster it must go to keep it up. The further away it is, the slower it must go to keep it from flying off in to space. These concepts are really easy to understand....except the ZetaTalk and ning challenged. He is even asking questions! Comment by Kollosson 1 hour ago "I've been looking on google for moon pics and there are some instances of severe tilting but as far as i can tell this is when viewed from the equator, seeing as we go around the sun and the moon follows the ecliptic the only deviation to the mix is the tilt of the earths axis. I have found nothing that shows dramatic angles of orientation as viewed from the UK, has anyone else found any info on this?" |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1143118 United States 11/02/2010 12:18 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Wow, unbelievable. It's like saying there's something wrong with the orientation of the earth because you're getting field rotation in an alt-az mounted scope. Try tracking the moon with a polar mounted telescope and see how much it appears to rotate over the course of a night... Quoting: Menow 1119283"... tilting angle means its the Earth that is changing its posistion..." Duh? No... it means that Earth is ROTATING! Their ignorance is truly astounding, and they are spreading it to others! Does anybody want to sign in there and clue him in and burn a sock? This is unbearable! Any attempts to sign on the ning and try to inform them results in a near immediate ban and deletion of all posts. I tried to explain the 3000 magnification on the LISS heliplots a couple of days ago and was banned and deleted in less than an hour. Ignorant bunch over there - if it doesn't fall within the guidelines of Nancy's dogma, it's rejected. |
