I bet Nancy is feverishly looking for information about the Cairo sandboils to spin into another funny attempt to gain notoriety for her failed scam. I would like to see actual video of the sandboils, or a local news item, but so far, all I have found are nutcase youtube videos.

I am intrigued if this is true, I am certainly open to considering that it might be a harbinger of a quake to come. What I am sure of is that Nancy's imaginary planet/brown dwarf/comet has nothing to do with it.

Hopefully Dr. Postman or someone else with local knowledge is around and can shed some light on the phenomenon. Are sand boils common in the region, or is this unusual? If they are common, is this one only an issue because of the river level and failing dikes?
