Are there any theories that debunkers believes in, Or do you believe that conspiracy theories are a load of shit, and everyone who participates in them are delusional?

Such as? The main topic for this thread is "Planet X" and the ensuing "pole shift" it is/was supposed to cause. Other than that, there are hundreds of conspiracy theories out there. Do you have a specific one in mind?

I am sure there are many theories debunkers 'believe' in. But also know that debunkers/skeptics will tend to change their opinions in the light of superior evidence.

All humans, debunkers included, have some kind of irrational beliefs. It's too hard wired in our brains not to have them. But the difference is in recognizing those as beliefs, and realizing that proven facts and tested theories that contradict said beliefs should have more weight. Be willing to change your opinion, just not too easily.

So many ideas are a load of shit (it is a stretch to call them theories), and certainly some people who participate and promote said ideas are delusional. Nancy's PX ideas seem to fit that. But all ideas are not created equal, and the ones that can survive hard scrutiny tend to be more valuable -- or, at least, describe reality with more accuracy.



That's a tougher question than you'd think. I have not been able to debunk gravity -- therefore I believe in it. Does that help?



None off the top of my head, but there certainly may be some. I just try to change my opinion in the light of better evidence, and keep a firm grasp on exactly what evidence will change my mind. Goalposts, if you will. The more immovable, the better.

Yes, I do.

But open mindedness doesn't mean absolutely everything is accepted at face value. Nancy's PX ideas are provably false, and her idea has failed every experiment put to it.

She claimed a halted Earth. All evidence points to it moving as predicted around the Sun.

She claimed Earth's pole makes a figure eight motion in the sky. It doesn't.

She claimed the Solstices and Equinoxes don't line up as predicted. They do.

She claimed other unpredictable motions of the heavens. Yet GOTO telescopes continue to track, demonstrating her claim as false.

She claimed the Venus Transit wouldn't happen. It did.

She claimed Java is 80 feet underwater. It's not.

She claimed the aliens in her head predict things with 100 percent accuracy. They don't.

I was more open minded about her ideas years ago. However, further analysis of the data, and her subsequent appalling performance, has shown she's simply wrong. Her continued promotion of the PX idea in the light of such concrete evidence to the contrary seems to fit nicely into the 'delusional' category, such as it is.

In your version of 'open mindedness,' do you really accept all ideas put to you equally, or as equally likely?

Yes, i follow Einstein that humans stupidness, especially of some specimen, is limitless. Since this is proved, obviously, it cannot be debunked.

Actually I was from the day go, very skeptical of the whole Iraqi invasion premise due to a fairly knowledgeable neighbour from Iraq who had filled me in on a lot of the local politics esp in regards to the US involvement in a lot of very shady dealings in politics there, and subsequent events proved me correct (or more specifically my neighbour correct)
Its one of the reasons I have such a very low opinion of the US government, simply because it directly or indirectly has been the cause of so much human misery, all the while decrying others actions.
Certainly other countries have their issues, but unsanctioned invasions on false evidence to remove a puppet that they had installed and supported isn't the way to do it, and I am sure many countries find the American governments actions and even their very way of doing politics extremely distasteful and even probably criminal- does that give them the right to invade and change your way of running your country??
I doubt we would find any Americans saying yes...
If no- then why does America do it, and keep on doing it with very vocal support from many of its citizens?

You (so far) haven't fallen as low as my ex friend who got bitten bad by the nancy crap, but you are a good long way along the same path, and it really pains me to see anyone follow it- it always ends the same way, badly...

He is open minded - present evidence showing that "Planet X" exists or that anything Nancy has said is correct and he'll examine it. He won't simply ignore or reject it like Nancy and her followers do when presented with anything that disproves "Planet X". I am completely open minded about it - but right now, the evidence on hand doesn't support its existence.

Okay - first of all, they say that NASA found evidence of this "rogue planet" in 1982 (presuming they're referring to IRAS) when no such thing actually happened when the data was re-examined. Funny how they left that part out. Talk about being open minded - they obviously aren't since they neglected to tell viewers about certain facts. That isn't being very objective is it - instead, they're trying to persuade the viewing audience to their conclusion.

?????? Page 1000 is reason enough to double and re-double it - and you have given plenty of stuff in the past - there is an enndless source of "qualified" material...
