And may I be the first to condradulate the debunkers for maintaining their 100% accuracy (and melfy for his 100% failure rate)

Welcome one and all to that thing that melfy said would never happen (again)

Welcome to page 1000!!!!

Sigh - another setback. Once again the debunkers have worked overtime to destroy my "credibility". Greater Humanity is victimized once again. All the millions of "unprepared" - it is so sad to contemplate.

What never existed cannot be destroyed (i.e., you never had any credibility to begin with).

Also, you cannot prepare for something that doesn't exist.

Aircraft accident analysis on the ning by idiots...funny. Not one of the ningnuts knows a thing about aviation.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 7468171

Add that to the list of things that they know nothing about...

It would be quicker and easier to list the things they do know things about

List of Things the ningnuts Know About

End of List

There is only one thing that Nancy is good at...finding the gullible and ignorant people of this world.

Other than that talent, she knows nothing else.

Off topic...another lovely sunny day in paradise for me. I think I'll go take a walk on the beach. I should have it all to myself today...it's only 64°F so there shouldn't be anyone other than those fishing today.

Can't wait until January 20, 2012 - I may take the day off if I'm working (I work a 9/80 schedule) to watch a launch. Never have seen one except from extreme distance (saw a shuttle launch from the top of the hanger in Savannah, GA many months ago).

You never put forth any evidence against them, only FOR them...

Re: Debunker Talk LIVE Chat 24/7 - A debunker's paradise!!
Dont know if it's quite `while hes ahead' CB

He's already had to sell 2 of the radio stations to cover to funding shortfalls of his 2011 `predictions' and another 3 are in the pipeline

He spent over 100 million in advertising and with extrapolated 2011 earnings (2010 and 2011 earnings apparently haven't been filed yet, at least not publicly) he looks to have spent pretty much every cent they had available to them. Even IF he had a sudden spike in earnings from the two failed prediction dates, they would still be very cash strapped without major spending cuts

Quite interesting really, they have had themselves a nice little earner since 1958, it wasnt until the late 1990's that it started its decline (interestingly the same time that most of the board members resigned, leaving Camping in charge) and all throughout the 2000's it has been operating at a loss. Its income has increased and decreased, but always the operating costs were higher than the income (strangely almost always by the same ratio)

Future of it??

Possibly it might get bought out wholey by a rival network, or what is happening currently is being broken up piece by piece to cover yearly operational costs until it declares bankrupcy...

Save for a trip up here to Florida for a launch, I guarantee it'd be worth it if you appreciate spaceflight. Of course, there's always the risk of scrubs and delays with any launch, but even in the worst case scenario, we still have some great spaceflight museums and attractions up here. One of those museums is run by a group of volunteers who are mostly retired space center employees and let me tell you, I could hang out there all day just shooting the breeze with some of those guys and listening to their stories.

Yeah, it's always a roll of the dice with these things. I'd usually grab a spot on the river the night before a launch, but even if it was ultimately scrubbed I was always in good company while waiting. I'm going to miss those days.

People still come for the rocket launches, but not nearly as many and it's just not the same; usually if they're from out of state or out of country it's not like they planned their trip to catch the launch, they just heard about it while they were here and happened to stop by. Back in the day it was a magnet for die hard space enthusiasts, now it's just a weaker magnet for whoever happens to hear about it. Not saying the company's not great, but in my experience the dynamic is changed; now I'm about the only one who's still crazy enough to haul a big ass scope down to the river hours before a launch.

GA accident, fatality rates down in 2010

General aviation accidents and fatalities declined in 2010 for the fourth consecutive year, according to National Transportation Safety Board data released this month.

In total number, the 1,435 GA accidents marked a 20-year low, even as estimated total flight hours began to climb for the first time since the Great Recession began. There were 450 GA accident fatalities in 2010, down from 478 in 2009.

I sadly missed the final launch due to a last minute problem at work, but on the flip side it drove me to push the envelope on tracking it with the telescope so that I could at least say I saw the final mission. I was actually cheering when they stopped the clock at -31 seconds, only to get let down when they picked up the count again. Glad to hear you got tickets to see it launch from the visitor center, that's something I never did despite growing up in Titusville.
