Why do you bother bidding on them on eBay? Based on the twelve that currently appear on eBay, at the most you'd save is a few dollars. There's no way you're going to get one for half-price or even three-quarter price.

Man up and buy one for full price or admit to us all that you can neither afford one or really plan on paying off your lost bet.

If it is a case of finances etc then isn't it a simple case of contacting Hap personally and explaining your situation to the guy. I mean bro, all roleplaying aside, you are really starting to put a very sour taste on something that quite simply you should have sorted out
(even away from our GLP thread) a number of days ago. There is NO complex issue here. The problem is YOURS and YOURS alone to deal with. The fact that you made the 2012 "steak bet" with Hap here on GLP means that we get to input on the issue. For goodness sake ZM the very fact that you were so "over confident" and "smarmy" about the 2012 thing etc, right here on this very thread, has just added fuel to an already stoked fire of opinion against you. Your inability and/or unwillingness to make good with your bet with Hap is quite frankly not surprising to me. However your treatment of Hap over this issue I find to be very disappointing indeed.

And yet you prepare ahead of time for doom that never happens. It stands to reason you could have easily prepared for that outcome in advance as well. Simply having the funds set aside to pay off your wager isn't conceding defeat. It's simply being ready for that scenario should it be required.

Has Nancy reacted to the fact that it is 2012 already ?

And is wank-meister Andrew still around ?

And from Max's viewpoint losing would have been a doomy outcome so he should have been prepared for it! Didn't Nancy or Cliff warn him?

It's obvious he has no intention of ever paying up on this wager...and probably never had any intention either. His word is about as good as Free Store's.

Mut, I hope to be back at KSC in June for the Delta Heavy launch.

I hope to purchase something today.

One of our bosses at my present company has a favourite saying: "Hope is not a strategy!"

I'm going to the launch on the 19th. Just need to find the right park to watch it from. The visitor center is closed nad public access is blocked so it's time to find which park to go to or just watch it from Eau Gallie beach (about 20-odd miles away).

Either way it ought to be interesting...it is a night launch.

I don't understand all the enthusiasm for watching launches - guess it must be like watching NASCAR, which is something else I don't "get".

I should know something today.

I haven't been here for a while. Have I missed anything, like Nibiru/Planet X? Haven't seen any sign of it...

I know that NASA is `supposed' to be this big bad boogieman that is always `lying' to the ordinary man on the street according to your favoured sources of information, but for the people in the real world like myself who have no problems finding out all sorts of obscure data from them, the watching of a launch is the ultimate `in your face' to fruitcakes like nancy

its using REAL science to go and find out more real science about how things really work in this universe
