They allow one to establish (as I have done with the red line) the Sun's Ecliptic, which is of course caused by the Sun's rotation and can be skewed in images if one turns the Sun this way or that. Venus was supposed to take a path at a slant, upper left to lower right, but took an almost parallel path with the Sun's ecliptic."
