According to Cartes du Ciel configured with Flareberto's exact coordinates, I get this for the Sun at that location and time (time stamp pulled from his image EXIF):

Azimuth: +227° 02' 23"
Altitude: +37° 10' 46"

Now where the hell is she getting too high by 17° and south by 14°?

god only knows- from the LIEder that brought you such classics as ra means right angle...

I would want confirmation if she said 1+1 is 2...

(she never got much beyond that- I do suppose that makes her marginally more intelligent than the `zetas' that never could figure out if you have one apple and someone takes that apple away from you- how many apples do you have...)

This time his Nibiru nearly has the size of the sun. Of course "nobody" could see such a big planet, especially not when it is an odd lense flare. Perhaps they think that their nobiru bought some hotdogs at a fast food restaurant and so he eventually grew a little bit. At least their brains do not have more storage than an average floppy-disk.

Perhaps this is also the kind of annoucement they are waiting for. There is a big planet near our sun which is daily growing because it visits our fast food restaurants regularly.
This poleshit ning page gets more and more a running gag. It is incredible that some people really buy this kind of shit there.

That part, indeed, is what fascinates me. To see exacting parallels to the group profiled in 'When Prophecy Fails' realtime is very interesting, but it's the mindset I want to understand. How wrong is wrong enough? Or is there no limit? Would Nancy's believers be irrational enough to go the Heaven's Gate route, if Nancy demanded it? Or, if not, where would be their 'breaking point' where they would choose not to believe anymore? And why then? What criteria must be met for the believer to 'break up' with the PX belief?

Believers, perhaps not surprisingly, are rather reticent to answer those questions. A pity.

I would GLADLY answer ... if I was a believer.

It's amazing that a lens flare can push it from 7 of 10 to 8 of 10...absolutely pathetic...

If you're interested in how I made the filter, it's a 52 to 58mm step-up ring with a piece of black solar filter material attached to the ring. This results in a filter that is parallel to the front lens element and perpendicular to the light entering the lens. Camera mounted on a tripod because of the slow shutter speed even at ISO 1600.

I don't like the black solar filter material, it's relatively fragile as it is easily scratched even by a paintbrush used to remove dust from the surface.

The big problem Bob909, is that she will simply stop mentioning it and it will be forgotten about until someone brings it up (usually a debunker, altho that's a little harder these days than when she was still hosting her chats here rather than the ning- much easier to control what people are allowed to post about there)
Bush was going to make and announcement then Obama was going to make one before he was elected, then there was the one before the Iraq war, where the US and Indonesian governments were going to make an announcement....

Each time when it became obvious that it wasn't going to happen, she simply stops talking about it, bringing up some `new exciting' doom for her followers to panic about...

This has always been her pattern- she used it when the `before Christmas' fireballs didn't appear, when the ISS was going to have to be evacuated due to increased debris from planet `fail's tail was going to cause it to be destroyed, she forgot about the dark twin for several years until someone else brought it up.

See the pattern?

How wrong is wrong enough?

Unfortunately a lot needs to be wrong.
Once you are so deep in it, the truth could be right before your nose and you would deny it.

In the ZT-Exposed document I mentioned the "Fake-Maria" story.
Maria was a former Moderator and I was pretty good in contact with her. We had skype (webcam) conversations in the past so I knew her.

Anyhow,
After a while she stopped believing ZT and Nancy quickly proclaimed she must be a fake idendity. (According to Nancy, someone from the government to distract the PS-Mods).

I still had Maria added over Facebook and I went to check that ZT claims in more detail.
I started asking questions that only the real Maria could answer, and of course she could answer all of these....
then I went to do another webcam-session and again it was no-one but Maria herself...

What did the Moderators thought of all this?

At first, some of them were seriously confused (because all proved Nancy's claims wrong) but finally they choosed the way of the least resistance and jumped on Nancy's bandwagon who insisted this couldnt be Maria even though I provided the whole skype session and the answers as proof it is herself.

Nancy came up with her regular means of manipulation to let me look bad (calling me "a small bait" or a "young soul") and the rest of the Mods accordingly made it clear to me that any further discussion will lead to a suspension as a Mod.

Someone of them came up with the "brilliant" argument:
"If debunking ZT is not allowed on the PS-Ning, it shouldn't be allowed on the Admin-Ning either".

Which was the end of any further rational discussion. (Even though it never really stopped since I came across her mistakes with the SOHO EIT , the Neumayer images and finally the too obvious Venus-transite claims and discussed this openly on the admin Ning.)

No doubt. Yes.
In fact there was one former Moderator who made indications in that direction... (Suicidal stuff) and Nancy quickly claimed her another "fake" to let the other Mods avoid any contact with that person.

To my knowledge that person has not yet commited suicide (thank god) and is not directly involved into ZT anymore. ( I guess that saved her life)...

I appreciate your insights, and you have been very candid in explaining how you came to 'break up' with Nancy's cult. It may be that such breaking points are unique to the believer/individual in question, and there's no way to come up with a true 'goal post' that would work for everyone addicted to Nancy's claims. Certainly her plethora of past failures didn't end her cult.

The idea that anyone would hold onto Nancy's ideas with Heaven's Gate-like fervor is troubling, particularly given the quality of those ideas is terribly low. But, then, so was the Heaven's Gate idea itself, I suppose.

Making "reality" more obvious certainly helps awakening but probably there are harder states of denial aswell.. so at the end its totally up to the individual and this is were the Mods are currently, I believe.

A true "goal post" was something I tried with my doc until I realized that I cannot brake these mental-barriers that some people have set up to themselves, but it worked to a good extend for some and I know at least a handful of people who significantly changed their minds/lifes in accordance. - Yes the "break point" is definetly very individual.

I know of at least one example were someone intended to do something stupid in order to bring "ZT into the News"...

And if someone imagines this to an extreme then it might turn out to be a real threat.

Nancy does not call for these things, (I guess she even dislikes the idea because it could bring very bad attention to her cult), but some people just go on their own and start to get outta control in this regard.

Fortunately the mindset is not as radical (in terms of self-destroying, martyrdom, or harming others) as other ideologies on this planet..but still it is very destructive in terms of social contacts, social position, state of mind and future plans.

In that, anyone who counters her disinfo is truely doing a great service for their fellow man.
