But I wonder if an extraterrestrial body could interfere with the magnetic coer and hence cause additional stresses on the plates?? It is possible as an explanation, worthy of some consideration, but still, the jury is out on that one.

New article is interesting about new subduction zone in Spain. [link to www.livescience.com]

"A budding subduction zone offshore of Spain heralds the start of a new cycle that will one day pull the Atlantic Ocean seafloor into the bowels of the Earth, a new study suggests."

**note.. Not endorsing zetatalk.. Just curious as any earth scientist would be**

Yes, there is movement in the Straits of Gibraltar, but the reasons these scientists surmise is hardly the cause. It is clear from the pattern of Continental Drift
[link to www.zetatalk.com]
that the African Plate is floating away from the Eurasian Plate. Why would it move in the other direction when the Ring of Fire is compressing and the Atlantic pulling apart! The African Rift Zone is increasing regularly, as current volcanic activity shows. Of course there were great earthquakes along the Mediterranean in the recent past, because the edges of the plates are not smooth so jolting occurs during any rolling of the African Plate.

Why are these scientists then drumming on the word SUBDUCTION to explain why Gibraltar is likely to stretch? Subduction implies being pushed TOGETHER. We have stressed that many people simply cannot face the trauma that the Earth has suffered in her recent past, every 3,600 years as her geology shows. The concept of crustal shifts is simply too frightening, so they refuse to consider this. Here once again we have scientists behaving illogically. In no way is the SPREADING of Gibraltar, here predicted by these scientists, caused by a subduction. To conclude this is illogical.

I haven’t been following this thread or ZetaTalk for a couple years so correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t the “Straits of Gibraltar” supposed to be stretched by some 30 miles or so in 2012?

As for her attempts at explaining things in scientific terms, the problem is more often than not Nancy is “not even wrong”. If you are not sure about what I mean, please google that phrase.

In other words it is often difficult to discuss (falsify) scientifically ideas that are literlly made-up (not clearly defined or imaginary). For example, I just saw someone post something about her mention of "moon swirls". I have never heard this term before, but my guess is Nancy saw some type of swirling pattern in an image and decided to create her own term and then attribute that to Planet X. I'm not familiar with the "moon swirl" story so please feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

I think you're right on that. Of course, in general, you could say almost any random statement and you would be right nearly as often and Nancy.
