Interesting would be to invite Nancy to be confronted with scientists.

It is of major importance that Nancy's claims ARE so ridiculous, but that you have to know some science to see through them. It invites lots of insults which can be spun into a claim that there is an organized opposition to her story. Again... it is the conspiracy aspect which is most important. Spot on Menow! You're right.. although I still think a discussion with scientists could take place... (I imagine a confrontation "live" on TV... not on Usenet or some chatroom. ) Nancy of course can find a way around every statement, BUT, the lenghts she would have to go in order to, for example, talk around the fact that Gibraltar is closening instead of widening - would be very obvious to many people as to who is trying to evade being precise. Scientists could offer tons of data, Nancy could offer claims of a cover-up and simulated whatever. Yes some people would choose Nancy over the scientist but that is, because as you said, due to the conspiracy aspect aka. a psychosomatic issue. Nope. Anything presented would just fall under a blanket denial that they are just part of the conspiracy. Look what she has done to Phil Plait.
