I never heard of that story ... but the great masters had a lot of fun with the stuff they did ... for example Rembrandt painted himself into a lot of religious paintings, for example in one where he helps taking jesus off the cross: [link to konturen.uoregon.edu] ^^ Rembrandt is the Guy holding Jesus arm high up ... compare with a self protrait of rembrandt and you see: [link to upload.wikimedia.org] So its very well possible the story you heard might be true, although i personally dont think so ... but who really knows. |
