Radio Royalties Bill HR 848!

Have you heard about this?

A bill has been introduced in Congress that would keep your favorite radio station from playing the music you love! It’s true! You see, most of the record labels are now owned by foreign companies and they’re demanding that Congress pass new laws requiring radio stations to pay them millions of dollars a year or…quit playing music! We think they’re looking for a big bail out at radio’s expense. Music stations like The HOG would have to turn to talk, news or sports to try to make a living. You would have to find another way to hear your favorite music without having to pay for it yourself. This is just not right.

Since the very beginning… American record companies and artists have encouraged radio stations to play their songs. That relationship has been a big factor in the careers of artists like Metallica, Green Day, Disturbed, and scores of others who have openly thanked radio for getting their music to you.

Now, a Radio Royalties Bill...H.R. 848 has been introduced in Congress. Please, help us stop this bill by calling your Congressman or Congresswoman and telling them to oppose the radio royalties bill. You’ll find the contact info you need below.

Thank you for your help!

This is pretty shitty, almost the same thing that happened to the housing bubble, now happening to the local radio stations that play music..

I see not many people are interested in this with all the Korea bs going on.
If is is allowed to pass, you can kiss the free music on your radio goodbye.
The only thing they would be allowed to broadcast is News and talkshows.
And I don't know about you all but I rather enjoy having something to listen too while driving everywhere...

Not quite correct but it would concentrate broadcasting to the media giants fox,cbs et al as independants could not afford the royalties which is probably this bills objective.

I would say you are correct. The local radio stations here are quite small compared to them and taking potential profits...

the beginnings of communications loss.
political correctness is a doctrine.... fostered by a delusional, illogical minority...... and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media; which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.
