I wanted to point out the "election" in Iran ended on June 12th. The next day, the Mousavi camp allegedly fraudulent counts because of the time between the tally of the votes and the announcement of the winner coincidentally came too close. They cannot count all the votes in few hours and then declare the winner right away. The timing of the winner's declaration was very suspicious.
Secondly, young Iranians with mobile phones already have Twitter accounts prior to the "election". They moved fast on words from the Mousavi camp's declaration of fraud. In fact, every Iranian with a mobile phone can spread "word" fast throughout the countryside. |

Well, I know how such people operate.
In 1953, the CIA managed to overthrow the Iranian president with 5 operatives and a couple of thousand paid protesters.
And the US sponsored dictatorship lasted 20+ years.
So explain how they managed that!
I know and I think you know it too, that the tactics they use are beyond ingenious. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 703921
My rebuttal would be that however ingenious and however many catalysts they used, they can't start a revolution if people don't follow them. People following them indicates discontent is present.
If three posters on twitter were able to get a rise out of so many in Iran, I submit they were ripe for the picking and there must be a reason for that. Also, how easy is it to get people to die for a cause they care little about? Ezekiel 7:19 They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be removed: their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD: they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels: because it is the stumblingblock of their iniquity. |

Sunday, Jun 14, 2009
Editor's Comment: Before you start connecting the dots, consider this: The attempt to discredit the elections and cause instability in Iran look very much like a scheme we've seen before - directly out of the CIA playbook. We've seen this pattern in so many elections in Venezuela, for example, I swear that even the Chavistas would be disappointed if it doesn't reappear next time around. After all, a little drama does add some excitement in elections where consistent landslide victories are won by presidents like Chavez and Ahmadinejad. So here we go again - the old Langley one, two, three:
1. Groom an opposition candidate to run against the guy you hate, pay him well and line up your media to back him.
2. During the campaign, sell him as the savior of the bourgeois opposition who lost their money in the revolution. Use your own pollsters and media propaganda to convince his followers that they are going to win by a wide margin.
3. When your guy loses, scream "FRAUD!" It's akin to yelling "FIRE!" in a crowded theatre, inflaming all those disappointed bourgeois counter-revolutionaries. Get them out on the street, setting fires, playing the victim, waving flags, ready-to-go placards, banners, women crying in front of CNN cameras and men yelling angrily into Christiana Amanpour's microphone. Only this time, they're ready to burn their own flag instead of the U.S. flag. I tell ya, it makes great TV for a western audience. (Incidentally, don't take Christiana's reports too seriously. The Amanpours, like many Iranian expats, led a privileged life under the Shah of Iran and lost their ill gotten wealth as a result of the Iranian revolution in '79. Naturally, Christiana was very upset. Later, she married James Rubin, an arch-Zionist, and regained her status, good money and even some fame, this time as a CNN reporter in service to the empire.)
Mir Hussein Mousavi followed his script, declared to his followers that the election was invalid instead of graciously accepting defeat. CIA's shill, Manuel Rosales, did exactly the same thing in Venezuela when he lost large to President Chavez in 2006. The opposition came out and banged their pots and pans, then went home to bed. When Ahmadinejad reached out to Mousavi and his followers, offering to give them a part in the new government, Mousavi rejected the offer. Folks, these are not exactly marks of a real statesman, ready to lead a nation.
Yes, they'll succeed in smearing Iran and marring this election in the minds of those who prejudged them before they took place. The CIA/Mossad duo can be proud of the pain and confusion they've caused in Iran and worldwide. Now they've got some video of some angry Iranians to show their bosses for a pat on the head. But if they think that they can destabilise Iran by getting a few thousand Iranians out on the streets of Teheran, they're even dumber than I thought.
Indeed, connect the dots below, get acquanted with Manucher Ghorbanifar and find out a little more about Hussein Mousavi, the U.S.-backed candidate before you buy the western media line about fraud in the 2009 Iranian election.

GANGING UP ON THE USA, IN YEKATERINBURG
Yekaterinburg in Russia
Can we expect the CIA and its friends to take action against India, Pakistan, Brazil, Iran, Russia and China?
In mid June 2009, these countries are meeting in Yekaterinburg in Russia.
The leaders of India and Pakistan are likely to meet at this Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) meeting.
The leaders of Afghanistan, and Iran are also expected to be in Yekaterinburg.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) comprises Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrghyzstan and Uzbekistan, with observer status for Iran, India, Pakistan and Mongolia.
Brazil, Russia, India and China will hold a separate BRIC summit in Yekaterinburg, after the SCO meeting. - India, Pakistan leaders may meet at Russia SCO summit
Yekaterinburg from above by Andrij Bulba
Challenging America will be the main focus of the meetings in Yekaterinburg, according to Professor Michael Hudson, writing at Global Research, on 13 June 2009.
(De-Dollarization: Dismantling America’s Financial-Military Empire)
Among the points made by Professor Hudson:
1. The attendees in Russia say they are discussing mutual aid.
This mutual aid will not involve the USA, NATO or the US dollar as a vehicle for trade.
In 2005 the SCO asked the USA to set a timeline to withdraw from its military bases in Central Asia.
2. The Yekaterinburg agenda is about setting up a new financial and defense system.
At the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on 5 June 2009, Russia's Mr. Medvedev called for China, Russia and India to "build an increasingly multipolar world order."
Professor Hudson writes:
"What this means in plain English is:
"We have reached our limit in subsidizing the United States’ military encirclement of Eurasia while also allowing the US to appropriate our exports, companies, stocks and real estate in exchange for paper money of questionable worth."
3. In June 2009, Medvedev said: "The artificially maintained unipolar system" is based on "one big centre of consumption, financed by a growing deficit, and thus growing debts, one formerly strong reserve currency, and one dominant system of assessing assets and risks."
Medvedev concluded that the cause of the global financial crisis is that the United States makes too little and spends too much.
4. And the USA has very large military spending. It has recently increased military aid to Georgia; it wants the NATO missile shield in Eastern Europe; it is building up forces in the oil-rich Middle East and Central Asia.
5. Successful trading countries like China end up with lots of dollars.
China can use these dollars to buy US Treasury bills.
Or, China can stop buying US Treasury bills.
That would mean the dollar would fall and the Chinese currency would rise.
This would price China's exports out of world markets and hence create unemployment and business insolvency.
Countries like China have been hooked into the dollar system.
Now some of them want to find a way out.
6. Back in 1971, the USA was spending too much on its military.
The US balance of payments was in deficit.
The USA came off gold.
Central banks lent money to the USA and were given US Treasury Bonds.
These loans have been helping to keep the USA afloat.
A very large chunk of Washington's spending is for defence and military operations.
The international financial system is thus organized in such a way that it finances the Pentagon and US buyouts of foreign assets.
7. Now, the SCO and BRIC countries intend to trade in their own currencies.
China has made deals with Argentina and Brazil to carry out their trade in the Chinese renminbi rather than the dollar.
China has made a deal with Malaysia to carry out trade between the two countries in renminbi.
8. The United States is now the world’s largest debtor.
But, the USA has avoided the pain of 'structural adjustments' imposed on other debtor economies.
9. The USA tells debtor economies to:
A. Sell off their public utilities
B. Sell off their natural resources.
C. Raise their interest rates.
D. Increase taxes.
E. Gut social safety nets.
F. Squeeze out money to pay creditors.
10. In the USA there have been tax cuts and interest rates have been reduced.
China was alloed to invest in some dud American companies but was blocked from buying Unocal.
11. Yu Yongding, a former Chinese central bank advisor, suggested that the USA should cut back its military budget.
Since the 13th century, war has been a major factor in creating debt.
Normal peacetime budgets tend to be balanced.
12. China, Russia and their non-aligned allies want the USA to stop living off the savings of others and going in for unlimited military expenditures and adventures.

June 8, 2009
What do Michael Ledeen (the American 'neo-conservative'), Mir-Hossein Mousavi (the Iranian presidential candidate of 'chagne') and Adnan Khashoggi (the opulent Saudi Arabian jet-setter) have in common?
They are all good friends and associates of Manuchehr Ghorbanifar (an Iranian arms merchant, an alleged MOSSAD double agent, and a key figure in the Iran/Contra Affair, the arms-for-hostages deals between Iran and the Reagan administration). In one or two, at most three, degrees of separation, these people hung out in the same circles and very likely drank to the same toasts.
You can find all kinds of trivia about Ghorbanifar in the Walsh Report on the Iran/Contra affair. In Chapter 8, for example, we learn:
"Ghorbanifar, an Iranian exile and former CIA informant who had been discredited by the agency as a fabricator, was a driving force behind these proposals [for arms-for-hostages deal];" or, "Ghorbanifar, as broker for Iran, borrowed funds for the weapons payments from Khashoggi, who loaned millions of dollars to Ghorbanifar in "bridge financing'" for the deals. Ghorbanifar repaid Khashoggi with a 20 percent commission after being paid by the Iranians," (see: [link to www.fas.org]
Here is a bit from an article by Time magazine that shows Ghorbanifar's circle of associates; it is from a January 1987 cover story (The Murky World of Weapons Dealers; January 19, 1987):
"By [Ghorbanifar's] own account he was a refugee from the revolutionary government of Ayatullah Ruhollah Khomeini, which confiscated his businesses in Iran, yet he later became a trusted friend and kitchen adviser to Mir Hussein Mousavi, Prime Minister in the Khomeini government. Some U.S. officials who have dealt with Ghorbanifar praise him highly. Says Michael Ledeen, adviser to the Pentagon on counterterrorism: "[Ghorbanifar] is one of the most honest, educated, honorable men I have ever known." Others call him a liar who, as one puts it, could not tell the truth about the clothes he is wearing," (emphasis added).
This second bit is from Chapter 1 of Walsh Iran/Contra Report: ( [link to www.fas.org]
"On or about November 25, 1985, Ledeen received a frantic phone call from Ghorbanifar, asking him to relay a message from [Mir-Hossein Mousavi] the prime minister of Iran to President Reagan regarding the shipment of the wrong type of HAWKs. Ledeen said the message essentially was "we've been holding up our part of the bargain, and here you people are now cheating us and tricking us and deceiving us and you had better correct this situation right away.''
[...]
"In early May, North and CIA annuitant George Cave met in London with Ghorbanifar and Nir, where the groundwork finally was laid for a meeting between McFarlane and high-level Iranian officials, as well as financial arrangements for the arms deal. Among the officials Ghorbanifar said would meet with an American delegation were the president and prime minister [Mousavi] of Iran and the speaker of the Iranian parliament," (emphasis added).
And to remind how Michael Ledeen became involved in the Iran/Contra affair in 1985, here is a bit from Chapter 15 of Walsh Report ( [link to www.fas.org]
"[McFarlane] authorized Michael A. Ledeen, a part-time NSC consultant on anti-terrorism, to ask Israeli Prime Minister Shimon Peres to check on a report that the Israelis had access to good sources on Iran. By early August 1985, Ledeen's talks had led to a direct approach by Israeli officials to McFarlane, to obtain President Reagan's approval to ship U.S.-supplied TOW missiles to Iran in exchange for the release of American hostages in Beirut. McFarlane said he briefed the President, Regan, Shultz, Weinberger, Casey and perhaps the Vice President about the proposal in July and August 1985.40 McFarlane said that Casey recommended that Congress not be informed of the arms sales."
There you have it. Now, I'm no investigative journalist, so I'll leave it to the professionals to dig deeper into this.
But, I do have to wonder aloud: Seeing how we cannot ignore his 'neo-con' credentials and that Michael Ledeen maintained his very good relations with Ghorbanifar, (who at least used to be) a good friend of Mir-Hossein Mousavi (the 'candidate of change' in the Iranian presidential elections); and given the support that Mousavi's candidacy has been receiving from the American 'moderates', maybe this kind of 'change' is the 'regime change' the Americans have had in mind for Iran?
