The Clancy game stuff is a red herring. The code naming that never actually appeared on the jackblack12 site. The blogs are obvious fakes put together to earn a quick buck.
All we have is the shoddy original Blackjack script and the jackblack12 site - which, as has been pointed out, hasn't had all that much effort put into it. The wild extrapolations here and at other forums are way more creative than that - in a sense this project has become a multi-player game, but not one marketed by a corporation and one without any fixed rules.
Earlier this year I met someone who was eager to impress on me that the atmosphere at the offices of the Telegraph, hard as it may be to believe from their dull-as-ditchwater newspaper, was extremely bacchanialian, nihilistic, prankster-ish and cocaine-fuelled. Justin Williams, with help from others (almost certainly involving defence correspondents) put the comic and site together as a prank project in my opinion. It has exploded in his face. |
